This is true... Where is the digg headline that reads, "Inside of human body has more germs than all the shopping cart handles in the world put together".
There's a store chain in Wisconsin called Festival and in Green Bay they have the first cart sanitizer, it runs every cart through a vinegar solution(at least it smells like it) and keeps them nice an clean for the customer. (i worked there for a while)
And this is why many door handles and railings are either brass or contain traces of copper. Copper kills these germs in short order. Ink used in paper currency contains copper for the same reason.
simple solution is the Kartwrap see all they have at www.kartwrap.comThis is a removable padded wrap that goes around the handle, washable with a wide selection of prints
im entering an invention contest in march. my invention would definitely help with the gross shopping carts. the idea is like at the doctors office, where they have rolls of paper that cover the table. then, when someone leaves, they rip off the paper and roll out some more. my invention would be a roll of paper that would attach to the top of the child seat on a shopping cart. you could roll out the paper, then rip it off when you leave. there would also be a smaller roll on one side of the handle. you could roll the paper across the handle and clip it to the other side. is anyone interested in this idea? any feedback (good or bad) could really help me in my competition! thanks!

Yup. Neat microbiology fact: based strictly by numbers, of all the cells in your body, there's more stuff thats NOT you, than that IS you.

I always appreciate the store that has the clean wipes at the entrance of the store just to wipe down the cart handle.

The cure to some diseases is to simply not get them at all, so they're doing their jobs right.
