A charged cap from a tv killed someone in my uncle's tv-repair class (people used to fix them) when someone jokingly tossed it to a guy across the room and it hit (and discharged) into his chest.
it does work i just got mine in and hooked it up to twin truck 12v batteries, it delivers quite a shock. I am now modding it to be small and fit in ur hand

It's just not worth messing around with. "Flyback" refers to the horizontal deflection of the scan line, but it also works pretty well in describing what you'll do if you touch a fully charged one. Surviving it is optional.
