tgdaily.com — At a time when we're told by the industry that the average gamers are pushing 30 rather than 13 how is it that a pair of bare naked breasts and the thought of hardcore sex got more people riled up about Grand Theft Auto than the fact that is one of the most reprehensively violent games out there?

"You start to make an intelligent, well thought out statement about your beliefs..."So I take you have no idea why that comment was downmodded?"...simply because you're angry people disagree with you."Oh. So you mean you are one of the people who disagree with me, and you actually endorse the downmod?I'm just trying to come up with an explanation for the downmod. Any guess would help.

@Dogmatron"It all kind of reminds me of Mortal Kombat II. A lot of people at the time would claim it was on par with SFII, it was one of the best games of all time, yadda yadda. What people were really interested in was the violence, which, at that level, was pretty novel back then. Now looking back it all seems pretty silly-- like GTA, MK was good but nothing revolutionary."The thing is, Mortal Kombat really was innovative. The finishing move system was completely new, as was the use of real actors for character models. I think the reason why it's not so well-regarded today as it was then is not that people got over their infatuation with violence, but that the innovations MK introduced turned out to not be so great. The other games that tried to integrate real-life footage with video game graphics all failed. It was an embarrassing period in gaming history. It wasn't the novelty of the violence that wore off; it was the novelty of MK's other legitimate innovations. One of my fears going into next-gen is that games may again start to look like clumsy blends of real-life images and computer graphics.

I hate blanket 'Christian' statements. One of the biggest anti-gaming names in the government is Joe Lieberman (you may remember him as Al Gore's attempted Vice President) and he's a Jew. So stop with the damn religious stereotypes. "Christians are controlling us!!" What's really controlling us is fear mongering media and scared people. And you're just spreading more fear of some sort of American theocracy that is really laughable.

@mister.joshua"How can you say that sex games cannot provide feedback based on your performance? Have you ever PLAYED a sex game? Even the Hot Coffee mini-game was all about giving feedback based on your performance."That mini-game was poorly made and poorly implemented, just like every aspect of the girlfriend scenarios. It worked in terms of adding an open-ended atmosphere to the game, but it was very poorly constructed and thought out. Not to mention there's so much of a positive visceral experience to be gained from sex that a video game will never be able to recreate, leaving just poor gameplay, which I suppose would be fine if game controllers didn't require two hands to operate. "I can't speak for everyone, but I would do it in a heartbeat. It is only the norms of society that prevent me from doing so. That's WHY I play violent games. It is a form of sublimation. If other people were more honest, I think they would say the same."Re-read what I said, I'm not exactly in disagreement with you, except to say that if the norms of society weren't there, we wouldn't be talking about it on digg. Don't know about you, but I'd be guarding my food supply."Do other forms of erotica just make you MAD that you aren't having sex for real? If so, I think you may have issues and should check into therapy."That's a pretty thorough psyche-analysis based on a poorly proofread post on digg. Where'd you get your degree from? Your spam folder? But.... to answer your question, I'd rather be doing it then not doing it. Wouldn't everyone?

gentlemen, please. Get over yourself. You create a new handle yesterday for the express purpose of f**king with me, expecting me to believe your own representation of a) your actual identity, b) your actual level of outrage, and c) your actual ability to read properly and form valid conclusions? Come on. You can't kid a kidder, Kanye. As to the "gentlemen in Alabama" comment, I ask you again to get a clue."Your Honor, it's like I'm a gentlemen in Alabama looking to use the toilet -- by the time I get the relief, it's going to be too late." -- Lenny Bruce to the Hon. Thurgood Marshall during his pro se argument before the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.Lenny Bruce as Pioneer of Free Speech Rights:<a class="user" href="http://www.law.com/jsp/article.jsp?id=1044059423734">http://www.law.com/jsp/article.jsp?id=1044059423734</a>You don't like that? Guess what: I don't care. You are a jackass.

The one that said before that the shop keepers are selling the games to kids, have you ever been to a Walmart? They dont sell kids M rated games there, and the kids go beg their parents to buy them the game. The parents dont care, and buy the kid the game, then complain it made their kid "bad".
