What it does not tell you that when most schools have clinics that provide medical services and dispense condoms that they found they were providing services for more serious medical problems. Most of the adults did not want the clinics in the schools and were having fits because they thought the kids would be coming in getting the condoms when in fact the kids were coming in were getting tested because they found out the students needed glasses, had high blood pressure and diabetes among other things. At our local high school the kids were getting tested for HIV and STDs. There was a high incidence of testing positive for HIV and STDs and the students had no idea. Parents should talk to their children about all of it but if they can't the students need to talk to someone responsible. Too bad they did not have it going on in Alaska.
