I picked up LOZ:TP tonight from Best Buy and took a moment to chat with the campers. The first kid in line had been there since 2p.m. yesterday (Tuesday). Him - and most of the others behind him - were actually going to keep the system, which warms my heart just a tiny little bit.Highlight: flashing him (and the others) my copy of Zelda on the way back out.
As truly insane and obsessive this whole idea of camping out is, I can't help but get jealous of those few lucky people who are getting Wiis. I'd do it, but I have gigs-a-plenty on the weekend. And a tip for those lucky ones,When you walk out of that store with your Wii, RUN. RUUUUN. I guarantee, people at the back of the line will be stalking you... with or without knives. And lock your doors until after the holiday season too. Close your windows. Don't let anyone even SEE it. Theft rate this season will shoot up like guys at a Shakira concert.
I hope to get mine at either Wal-Mart or Meijer, since they're the only two places in my area that are selling the system at midnight. Afterwards, I might drive by the line at the Best Buy, flaunting my Wii, and saying, "Guess what? I GET TO GO HOME AND PLAY WITH MY WII, WHILE YOU ALL GET TO STAY OUT HERE AND FREEZE 'TILL 8AM!"Then again, I do want to actually make it home with my system, with both myself and my car unscathed . . . .
