I couldn't agree more with geoken. I don't know why people get so enraged that Family Guy doesn't follow the traditional sitcom formula, and then they bitch about how every show on TV is the same. I tend to think of Family Guy as a SNL type sketch show, loosely tied together with a plot no one really cares about. Just take it for what it is, or don't watch it.As far as the Family Guy vs. South Park feud, why is it so wrong for someone to like both? I wasn't aware there was a limit on the number of cartoons one can enjoy.
The Cleveland Shows sucks balls. I'm a big fan of Family Guy but it was a major mistake to spin off the most boring character among his friends. They should have done Quagmire and in the cross over episode they poked fun at it that everybody assumed it would have been Quagmire.I tried watching American Dad it's first year but found it funny, though i did notice it had an actual plot and was a 'smarter' show. I just didn't think the jokes were funny. But reading all the raves here, i'll give it another try.
It's not an accident. Very early in American Dad's history, they made the conscious decision to move it away from the Family Guy-style bounce-around humor, because they didn't just want to make a clone show. They state this in the commentaries. Also, I like all three shows.
Dis Seth MacFarlane all you like, but do NOTdo NOTdis Roger.Roger is ten times the man you will ever be. His cheerful love of snacks is positively adorable.
Futurama was too original and funny for Fox to understand. Not saying that the Simpsons isn't funny exactly, but in my opinion Futurama was better, mostly because I enjoy clever humor a lot more than kicked in the nuts humor.Fox = "Ow my balls" channel from Idiocracy
