nytimes.com — How far we've fallen: "The old ?Sesame Street? is not for the faint of heart, and certainly not for softies born since 1998, when the chipper ?Elmo?s World? started. Anyone who considers bull markets normal, extracurricular activities sacrosanct and New York a tidy, governable place ? well, the original ?Sesame Street? might hurt your feelings. "

Wow...I've been waiting for a Sesame Street/Muppets topic for so long. I'm hoping some Diggers can help me out here.Does anybody remember the Sesame Street News flash? Kermit would get all dressed up in a trench coat and reporter hat and cover a nursery rhymes like it was a current events tragedy. (YouTube it. There's tons.)Well he did this one with Humpty Dumpy and it was seriously the freakiest thing I'd seen in my life. Humpty looked like this glammed-up, transvestite murder egg. His lips were this freaky shade of red, he had giant murder teeth and these freaky "I'm dead" eyes. This is the best picture I can find: http://images.wikia.com/muppet/images/thumb/6/64/S ...I had nightmares for years in which that freaky egg would just appear for no reason. If there's any Diggers out there who can find a video of this I'd be really grateful. I've been looking for years but have never seen much reference to it.

Are you FU##ING kidding me we all grew up on Sesame Street come on look at most/all of the doctors, lawyers, cops, judges, firemen, and all of the other ppl that help us out when we need it.THEY ALL WATCHED SESAME STREET now do you see them depressed do you see them as addicts??????? NO and we all had an imaginary friends at sometime in our life. Around the same age of the that kids watch sesame street. It helps them build more character.extend their imagination (which we all have and use like someone that wants a new house and want to fix it up they see what it looks like in their mind that's imagination)It also helps them get more words out and be more active with other kids. You might as well go after Barney for that too then come on leave the kids shows alone thy are learning how to count and letters before they go to school which also helps the teachers.I I have a 4 yr old that's not even in school yet and he knows how to count add and his whole alphabet he knew all that when he was 3. Let the kids watch sesame street

It's the media that started political correctness. It's the media that will deprogram the public to the way it used to be. If it's profitable to do so. Emphasis on the word profit.
