microsoft.com — The Microsoft download site hasn't been updated yet, but SP2 is available now on the Windows Update site (http://update.microsoft.com). Someone announced the Release Candidate on digg a few days ago, but it looks like it didn't stay in RC for long because this is the full version. Personally I'll be holding off to see what the fallout is like.

Installed it yesterday around 10am PST. No issues so far running IIS and SQL Server 2005. Course it's a non-AD box so tread lightly =D

@dpack1 and GrahamStw: I'm in the same boat, but not quite as displeased. I was an early adopter of XP x64, and for the most part I've been very happy with it, especially from a stability standpoint. The issues I had were around drivers at first - Epson didn't want to recreate 64-bit drivers for my printer or scanner, which was pretty annoying, but I blame Epson more than Microsoft. I've also had issues with being able to install some games, because either a) the game developers hard coded some OS check in the game that makes it think that XP x64 isn't compatible (Lego Star Wars) or the developers use some lame security system that requires a 32-bit system (Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory). Again, in both cases I blame the developers, not Microsoft. That said, Microsoft should've exerted a little more pressure on their third party vendors (hardware and software) to get these issues resolved, though I think Microsoft's hope is that the vendors would listen more to their customers. Sadly, they haven't.But apart from these issues, I've been happily running XP x64 as my main system for over a year and a half, and I'm generally a happy customer.

Installed on SBS 2003 R2 no problems. Left IE 7 installed after further discussions in the newsgroups. All i know is my server went from 2.2 gigs of ram used to 1.7gigs so apparently some memory leaks were fixed. (Its SBS 2003 with sql server and CRM 3.0 small business (exchange as well))

I've only had one or two apps tell me they don't work on this version, out of dozens.

This service pack contains a roll-up of all IE6 fixes to date. It will not upgrade IE6 users to IE7. IE7 users can upgrade directly to Windows Server 2003 SP2 without uninstalling IE7 first. There has been some confusion around this point. We are in the process of updating the release notes to clarify this issue. Bottom line, the IE7 statement was informational not a directive.
