Tested my T-Mobil with most of the methods discussed here.Worked on all of them including google, ButUsing GAIM with an AIM / ICQ login was superior because:1. No need to identify phone company - Gaim and AIM/ICQ figured it out for itself from the telephone number.2. Sent straight - clean format - text message - not e-mail from/to/subject redundant info.3. Sent as text - not through the carriers verbose - and costly - IM interface.4. Was free - since incomming text messages are free - and IM messages are charged. 5. The only country code tested was 1 - but that may not be a limitation because: 5a. The U.S. Senate says anyone who can get here in the next five years - and can forge a note from a friend - can live in the U.S., and, 5b. Speaking English not needed to receive amnesty and thousands of dollars in bonuses ( or earned status change for the politically correct ).

http://www.textmessage.it/Good info. TextMessage.IT Does United Kingdom, New Zealand, and United States -- UK NZ US USA Also does not require you to enter carrier - just the telephone number.Just like GAIM using AIM / ICQ - all you need is the telephone number. :)

FYI, if you don't have web access you can still send a text message to any US/Canada cell phone via EMAIL. And if you have email access on your cell phone, but are charged for outgoing SMS, this might be a cheaper way to text with friends.Instructions are posted at http://www.essistme.com or http://tinyurl.com/y9kgmc

Apparently, a world does exist outside of the US, and believe it or not, some neandarthal tribes that inhabit the "outer world" outside of the US, have developed the rudimentary technology to make fire, carve circular objects similar to the wheel, and also use strange devices called mobile phones, - strangely similar to the US "Cell phone". but obviously, these neandarthal - non-US outworld beings use dark magic to send their SMS messages, nothing like the Google of the inhabited world.I have underneath a list of websites, that contain the dark magic necessary to send SMS messages from the outworld - (non - US) domain. This dark magic has been known to turn US residents to frogs, so be wary. Dominion of the United Kingdom - http://www.freebiesms.co.uk Leprechaun outword, Ireland - http://ireland.freebiesms.com Sprite underworld, Germany - http://www.handyspruche.com Elven kingdom of Austria - http://osterreich.handyspruche.com Labyrinth of Switzerland -http://schweiz.handyspruche.com/ Middle earth of France - http://www.envoyezsms.com Caverns of Belgium - http://belgique.envoyezsms.com/ Dark rings of Spain - http://www.mensajetexto.com/ Outerreaches of Portugal - http://www.mensagemtexto.com/ Mountains of Czech Republic - http://www.smszpravy.com/ The Low countries, Netherlands - http://www.smssturen.com/ Valhalla of Sweden - http://www.smsmeddelande.com/ Deepest jungles of South Africa - http://www.freebiesms.co.za Desert land of Australia - http://australia.freebiesms.comBe very careful of these neandarthal beings. They may take on other forms. Some often say that the inhabitentsof these outworld - Non-US lands often appear to the untrained eye, to look like US citizens, and some of them even adopt a form of communication similar to english, although most are said to speak in strange barbaric tongues that do not resemble english, and instantly turn anyone who listens to them to stone. Beware..... Don't say I didn't warn you.
