googlewatch.eweek.com— Google today rolled out a Gmail Labs feature that lets you send text messages from your Gmail chat window. Very cool!

I added my cell number to my AOL Gmail account just now and tried it... it works.. right after that, I logged back into Trillian and the number was added to my contact list, so apparently it works outside of Gmail...Just so you know..
I was talking with a guy from Google. This was the reason he said he doesn't use the service. You would think the word would get around that people inside your own company don't use your service for a simple reason and you would fix it. I think there is a lot of potential for integration of gmail, grand central and android.
the address is kinda complicated but it's sent as an attachment, this website: http://www.myxer.com/ is pretty good about their ring tones being free and what not. I found out how through them.
mashaAllah, this is an awesome new feature. earlier this morning, i had to go to two sites just to send the same text message to people using two different providers. i had to wade through ads and searches to find the right page on each site. this feature would be good enough for me to start using google chat again.

There are plenty of American providers who will charge the recipient for any incoming SMS message if you have no plan. I learned that the hard way.

Just curious, why do you think more people "SMS in the Europe" than elsewhere?
