It's funny reading some white people's comments on this website. Particularly the comments that disqualifies the black man's reaction to this reprehensible affront. "Get over it." This is the underlying message I am hearing from these individuals. I just want to say to you that: it is impossible for you to fathom the repugnant treatment blacks undergo in this society and that the privileges of whites and blacks show immense disparity.In that case, you will never understand why this man reacted in this way. He had every right to act as he has. My analysis suggests that he behaved substantially less violent than many blacks would have in that situation--including myself. Its a discussion because the alternative is to stick your head in the sand Payrok. Its actually a discussion not about Richards, since he is not the first or last person to call a black man a name. Its to open peoples minds to alternative ways of thinking. My son has a tape called "Beat Downs". There is one clip where a black man is thrashing another black man saying "there gentlemen!!!!" That is not the African American owning a word so he can reduce its hurtfulness and it is not a racist black man. It is an angry man trying to verbally stab another.
