So by your thinking, when music artists go there and have a small concert its a waste of money? People sending food/munchines or playing cards is also a waste of money. How about the military providing computers and video games systems to these guys?Free movies?Because they could have just donated the cost of their free concert/cards/etc to a worthwhile cause. Saying something like this just shows that you have never been there. The time off you do have, i sure as hell dont spend watching a little meter for red cross donations go up. Entertainment improves morale. Greatly. An improved morale makes a huge difference in performance. It may sound odd, but in a butterfly effect kind of way, donating a game to the soldiers their WILL save lives. The guys over their fighting a war are not robots. They do more than just fight. They do get some off time, more depending on their job, sure. But that off time is hard earned, and for someone to have fun with their favorite hobby can make a big difference in their life.Myself, i am only in the Navy, but being on a boat for 6+ months is not easy. The Navy spends a huge amount of money on computers, movies, even phones for us. The Navy would not do this for no reason. They do it because it only helps get the job done. By having people in a better state of mind means when you go up onto that flight deck (one of the top 5 most dangerous jobs in the world) your more likely to not get someone or yourself killed. I would only imagine that carries over too the soldiers in Iraq.

The problem is not about not caring. There is only so much money to spend, and a lot is spent on entertainment, video games included. But there can always be more. Do you honestly think they are going to get enough copies of the newest games for everyone to play?
