lifehacker.com — Extremely impressed at the ease and speed with which the Ophcrack Live CD cracked my Windows admin password when I tested it out last week, I thought it might be useful to throw together a quick guide detailing how to use this powerful little utility.

passwords suck, use passphrases instead. (14 or more character passwords, that l0phcrack, etc, always fail on, because of the way longer passwords are transmitted over the network, and cached locally)

Hi! we also can use a tool names Windows Password Rescuer to crack password instantly especially a 20 characters password!
If your system is Windows 7/vista/xp,you can use "Windows Password Rescuer Personal/Professional'.

Wow people just now learned you can do that I've been doing that since 02` with ERD Commander for when my friends friends computers get all virus/malware infected and there systems wont even start up. Its a boot dist that runs a virtual OS over the windows file system you can do restores, copy over and backup files from a totally unrecoverable OS, edit registry, change/reset passwords even if its over 14 char ect... Runs its own NIC drivers and has firefox, I think the company not in business anymore but its still readily available on BT.

I guess this won't help me recover my encrypted boot partition.

Entering the BIOS is a different key for different computer manufacturers. Some use the delete key, others user F2, and some F12. When your computer is booting up, before the windows loading screen, the black BIOS screen usually says what key you need to hit to enter "setup". Hope that helped.

Search for an ISO burner in google, than use that to burn it to a CD. if your using a laptop I suggest using a slower write speed as mine failed the first 3 times that I used it on anything higher than 1X.

How might I go about cracking a router password if possible?
electrofoxNov 14, 2007
It will, if you just don't remember your password. If your partition is corrupted, then yes, you're probably out of luck. That's one of the fallbacks of encrypting your entire drive. That's why I don't do it. Instead, I only encrypt the important/sensitive stuff (with things like TrueCrypt, etc.).

Totally different task, unless you're using a windows box for a router. Is it wireless or wired? Either way, it's not as simple as cracking some password hashes. You have to start by capturing network packets. Use google, if you really want to find out more. There's plenty of info out there. But a fair warning: it's a more complicated and time-consuming task.

yes of course vista can be hacked.....all u need to do is get the oph cd and buy the tables (cryptographic code and u can crack pretty much anything.....including mac os x,unix, linux blah blah blah. boot the cd either it be xp or vista give it some time to crack and it will do the job. if u buy the software 8gb in total u'll need a usb stick to access the tables..:)
ak2006137Feb 20, 2009
im sorry but ur stupid if u think she wouldnt know about it....u can use somethng like oph-crack- vista-live.iso (xp or vista choose accordingly).this is an auto cracking tool just boot and let the cd do the job.i would supply the link to buy the tables but its not worth it for one password....if u did that u might aswell make a career of it.

it didn't work for me.then I find <a class="user" href="http://www.resetwindowspassword.com/" rel="nofollow">http://www.resetwindowspassword.com/</a>worked perfectly.

The program that I recommend is the Windows Password Key 8.0, it is very easy to create arecovery disk that you can use on any Windows PC. It works perfectly to reset any local user account to a blank password. Just an easy to use bootable CD/DVD . It can also be used on a USB Flash Drive. <a class="user" href="http://www.lostwindowspassword.com/" rel="nofollow">http://www.lostwindowspassword.com/</a>

Compare to many password recovery solutions. Following solution is the best and the easiest one i found.
1.Download Windows Password Recovery 6.0 from Password Recovery Official site : http://www.recoverlostpassword.com/products/windowspasswordrecoery.html
2.Decompress the Windows Password Recovery 6.0 and note that there is an .ISO image file . Burn the image file onto an blank CD with the burner freely supported by Windows Password Recovery 6.0
3.Insert the newly created CD into the locked computer and re-boot it from the CD drive.
4.After launched the CD, a window pop up with all your account names(if you have several accounts); select one of the accounts that you have forgotten its password to reset it. Just one press, you have removed the password.
