Here's a short clip of LRH himself talking about Xenu - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BfQVzQzo5IAnd remember kids: Don't goof the floof!

'congress' in this case refers to a book or series of books, not the event.

I've been pretty fascinated with learning the 'secrets' of Scientology. Thanks to Anon, it's become easier lately.I find cult dichotomies, ideas that down the line turn intelligent and inquisitive people stark mad, very interesting to study. So I just finished watching the entire 3 hours of this OT Summit.it gave me a much better understanding of the organization, its promotions, goals, recruitment practices, mannerisms. The organization at a higher level definitely approves and employs criminal tactics.Organization is the downfall. And the way this 'knowledge' is structured is a perfect vehicle for controlling masses. While one of the fundamental principles is "don't let anyone control your mind", and "seek the truth" (I'm paraphrasing), the fundamental list continues with "know the truth", "be certain that it is the truth", "stand in the way of anyone criticizing the truth any way possible". And that's the downfall.Hubbart built those into the doctrine, and the organization is only happy to take that as far as it can.(I wonder if Orson Scott Card is biting his fingernails, wondering why he hasn't created a religion based on HIS books...)If this was indeed a "Science of Mind", as it is promoted, anyone would be able to dissect, analyze, and *criticize* it, thereby forming new theories leading to better understanding. Just as with physics or chemistry. There's no greater feat in science than being proven wrong. That's what keeps it growing and expending. Because it's driven by: finding information, processing information, making justifiable conclusions. The great thing about information is - there's always more of it. We never stop collecting the data. Therefore all "truths" are open to development and re-invention, pending appropriate data. The "Religious" status is entirely for cover and a way to battle criticism. Not to mention what tax-examination does to their finances.I think majority of scientologiests don't actually think of it as a religion. To them it's the ultimate scientific truth that should be packaged any way it can to reach the masses.Because of information suppression within Scientology, a lot of beginner level scientologists actually never heard of the Xenu story. They must be really surprised to learn that it *is* a religion, after all. That there is an imaginary monster, and that their actions determine how they spend the next eternity. Now, I'm no scientologist. And I find great satisfaction in trying to understand where these theories go awry. But, to an extend, these books are helping people. Some of the books contain tools for better communication and dealing with life's problems. And who can't use help with that?I think - in criticizing Scientology we need to be careful about dismissing the entire concepts and ways of thinking. There is some method to this madness, or intelligent people wouldn't be finding it that addictive.

I "borrowed" it, it's by all means legit.

The cake is a lie, we should make a cult centered around the weighted companion cube..
