telegraph.co.uk — Researchers have found they can use drugs to wipe away single, specific memories while leaving other memories intact. By injecting an amnesia drug at the right time, when a subject was recalling a particular thought, neuro-scientists discovered they could disrupt the way the memory is stored and even make it disappear.

This article is quite misleading. Propanol affects your essentially inhibits your amygdala (which is involved in emotion). If you give someone propanol after they've suffered a tramatic experience they're less likely to experience post tramatic stress, since they wont have such heightened emotions associated with the memory; however, they aren't going to forget what happened. Propanol isnt a magic memory erasing drug, its a mediator, and really only works well right after the experience. None of this is new news, there have been successful clinical, and real world experiments carried out for quite a few years.

This would be very useful to get over a really bad break-up.
