I don't know....the location of the sun and planets having any influence on somebodies life does sound like a load of BS. I'm a pisces, and one thing I've noticed many times before is every other pisces I've met has had a similar personality and similar beliefs to myself.

Actually, the article seemed to spend precious little time talking through the results of the study, and more time talking about the reactions of the astrological community. Who gives a rip about that?

When I bought my new car I suddenly noticed how many of them were on the road. I'm just saying that until you go looking for something you rarely notice how often it occurs. I never noticed how many people drove the same car until I was paying attention. Surely that must mean something! :PIn this case the people you spend time with are people you like. You like them because they share similar traits with you. That some of them happen to be born around the same time as you is bound to happen.

Whenever someone asks my birthday or my sign I always give them the wrong one and invariably the response is, "So you are a ______, I knew it!" Then they go on to tell me all of the characteristics I supposedly have because of this fact. Man are they pissed if and when I tell them the truth. All they ever take away from the experience is that I'm a jerk not that they've based their life decisions on a system that's demonstrably false.

I was pretty surprised by my find. I expected a 50/50 or worse. I just looked up people closest to me, when I knew their sign. Myself, I am at least 80% of what the descriptions say. Also, the Meyers-Briggs test nails me at ISTP, I fit that category over 80% as well. What's worse, somewhere I read that strong ISTP's are mostly Gemini.As I stated that astrology is crap, and by adding that religion/supernatural in general is absolute crap, you would think I'd be looking for patterns that would reinforce that notion. Unlike the typical American, I don't look for results that would reinforce my bias, hence my results. Since astrology IS crap (need I mention that again?) I'm not surprised in the least that there are people that are exactly opposite of whatever sign they are under. And since you are the only person who mentioned such, I'm confused as to where you got 'the majority'?

And the fact that people engage in pareidolia with regard to everything around them may tell us interesting things about the way the brain works, but it's certainly NOT any sort of validation for astrology. The problem with Jung is that all of his "theories" are wild speculation, much like Freud. And I'm SURE you can recognize the fallacy behind your insinuation that simply because lots of people are looking to Jung that somehow makes him not a loon.

First of all, astrology is not rubbish and furthermore it's quite precise and adequate when a serious astrologer is doing it. Let's make something clear for those who are full of uncertain judgment :- Astrology is not an science nor can be proven by any known physic or by any chemistry method, so far.- The purpose of astrology is not for fun and sadly enough it took that form in western countries, mainly USA trough media and commercial.- There can never be two same persons and thus there can never be two same horoscopes.- Astrology is not mainly ''something that predict future", although astrologer can do that by comparing ''route'' of the planets inside of our Solar system. Reformulation / Planets, transits and other known sky bodies are always moving. Astrologer can ''read'' what will happen when a certain planet comes in a certain ''house''. - To understand astrology, just like any common knowledgeable factor, you have to study it first. It's rather funny to make judgment of something you've never studied before. Those who are entitled by "Dr." and never fully studied the principles of astrology are not adequate people to prove anything considering the subject of astrology. Furthermore, considering the position of astrology today - everyone can make fun of it just by thinking that those who are validating astrology are doing what they can. The truth is, none can truly say that astrology is false because that would be a lie and inadequate judgment. - Even if astrology can't be proven by physic or chemistry methods, that doesn't mean that astrology is not true. Astrology has it's methods and teachings which consider of making notes, finding some of the possibilities and passing the knowledge on new generations. - Astrology exist for more than a 4000. years! Not even church's dogma, nor any possible scientific method can prove that astrology is "rubbish'' (simple enough, you can't prove that a fact about something is a lie). - Best proof about astrology is by doing a natal chart and I don't mean by visiting some of the "tarot centers" or "gypsy crystal ball lovers" nor witch doctors from "Warcraft 3" - Simple enough, only one single horoscope a.k.a natal chart is more than a evidence about validating that astrology is correct.And, for the end - How can you judge about something that you don't understand nor have ever studied before? Considering the ''finding possibilities" in the first post is irrational - Every single person is unique and I truly don't believe that ANY of those "scientists" EVER studies astrology. If they did such of an experiment would NEVER be in action. Another fact is that of an DNA a.k.a that of an horoscopes of mother and father that are needed to look because every single human being is unique! Whole experiment is "rubbish".

i am sure that most of the scientists have no knowledge of astrology and only few of them have tried to gain knowledge in the area of occult sciences. I am also sure that if these scientists start reading and gaining knowledge (more and more) about astrology, they would change their perception and get surprised how such things can be predicted through just a horoscope. personally, i know only 3 brainy people (doing research in different fields) and when I explained all the system of astrology to them, 2 of them accepted that astrology is a true science while 1 among them just denied completely to even listen and read about astrology. I think most of the scientists don't want to accept the things they have never seen. But surprisingly, they believe in GOD while they have not seen HIM too. It is logical to say that system is worthless if one read and do masters in that system.
