physorg.com — University of Pittsburgh scientists say they've genetically engineered an avian flu vaccine that has proven 100 percent effective in mice and chickens. The vaccine was produced from the critical components of the deadly H5N1 virus that has devastated bird populations in Southeast Asia and Europe and has killed more than 80 people.

More people would die from stampeding each other for the chance at getting a 100% sure fire, but difficult to acquire, vaccine than would from the real bird flu me thinks.

while I am not saying it couldnt happen.. the odds are much larger than they make it out to be, that this will turn into a pandemic. This not only has to make the jump as a foul to human disease but it also has to start coming out of the mouth instead of the ass, as we dont eat our own s**t like chickens do and then the host has got to survive long enough to spread it.. So it has to make a double mutation.I just really hope the price of chicken doesnt soar chik-fil-a is already pretty pricey. I have a urban chicken farm near me and when ever i see them trucks stack ten high with chickens all i can think is delicious.

I dugg this so it wouldn't have 666 diggs. Either way, if this is true (didn't read the article) it's good news.

the bird flu scare is a scam made up by the fda and drug companies. It was invented to scare people who watch and believe what the media says. By the time the bird flu mutates to go human to human, it wont be worth getting a vaccine for. Another thing people should think about is: do you know if they put the vaccine for the bird flu in the actual vaccine? if so than what else is in the vaccine?
