SciFi Channel is killing the scifi genre, with such critically acclaimed titles such as Mansquito and MegaSnake. Maybe R. Scott actually meant was Scifi Channel is killing the scifi genre?
Okay, but if that's all it takes to make something sci-fi, what is the value of the sci-fi element to the film? In other words, if they can just throw some lasers in there and call it sci-fi, then why bother? Shouldn't sci-fi involve something more valuable as far as storytelling goes?
