engadget.com— Okay folks, the moment you've all been waiting for is almost upon us (and by you all, we mean the .01% of you who don't already own an iPod or SanDisk DAP).

Anyone saw the zune site? The animation looks slightly off in the beginning but I suppose ends with a warm and fuzzy feeling. Interestingly enough, looks like it was made on a mac.
"This is great. The device (Zune) and its descendents will eclipse ipod sales within a year...""...The apple zealism I've seen associated with iTunes and the iPod products is ludicrous."As opposed to the total "delusionism" associated with your blathering? Do you not understand irony?
there's a reason why none of the major players have added wifi yet. It will drain your battery life like crazy. And for all these feature-rich devices, none if it will matter when the batteries go dead.for reference, past players that have tried:archos pma430 - about 4hrsnokia 770 - about 2hrs
@flag564"Um, thanks for sharing." Um, glad to be here."I guess that was your lame attempt to try to mark the Zune as a failure..." Not at all. I'm actually excitably curious about Microsoft's new entry into the consumer electronics market."....because you, as a dedicated fanboy, is going ahead with your purchase?" "Dedicated fanboy?" Is that a 'bad' thing...? Besides, would a Zune even work on any of my five Macs? Would a Zune work with iTunes? If no, then it would make sense to buy an iPod, the one device I know would work with iTunes on my Macs."Who on Earth expected you to do otherwise?" Microsoft.I do apologize if my professional consumer choices are an affront to your sensibilities.
"converged devices are where the cool kids play!"No it isn't. Converged devices ALL things badly. Where as the iPod does one thing...play media WELL.Oh and it's easy to use instead of hiding with about 20 different applications, buried in some obscure folder, that may or may not be on your device/SD card. The application may also not be able to access the SD card.Converged devices are a bit of a pain, and I've owned a lot of them in my time, before I realised it just wasn't worth it.
"Apple didn't announce any great improvements to its progress line yesterday"At the very least the video iPods now support DOUBLE the bitrate on a superior video codec. They have QUADRUPLED the resolution of all video content available on the iTunes Store (not exactly a small thing). They have made a TINY iPod Shuffle, increased the storage capacity of the top end iPod by 20GB (to 80GB) and completely redesigned the iPod Nano, making it smaller and cheaper at the same time.See what you mean, no progress there. /sarcasm
I'm sure they mean "computer owning population". Cos lets face it if you don't have a computer there is no way you are going to buy an MP3 player, let alone a Zune.

LOL! Now THAT would be an interesting enhancement... "Player Wars - If you play... you play for keeps!" Sort of like dragging for pink slips.
