destructoid.com — Lets set the stage a bit, imagine you're a Publisher, planning to release a new franchise on Wii. You've got 2 offers from developers, 1 game a hugely aggressive and promising hardcore game ( think Project:H.A.M.M.E.R.) and the other a novelty "minigame" collection.

Or we can just get game developers to utilize the same 6 degrees of freedom available for the PS3 and call it a win.

So I have to save a system I care nothing about? I have an idea, how about we stop buting hardcore games on the Wii and that way we get them on 360 or PS3 where they can shine.

Nothing, MadWorld will probably rock.

It is very possible to make good games on the cheap. A few talented developers with good tools (like flash for example) can make awesome (if not short/simplistic) games, and they do it without breaking the bank. The failure of causal games is not because they ar e cheap, but because the developers just don't care. They aren't told to make a good game, just to throw barbie on it and be done with it.

No, it comes down to the fact that the "hardcore" audience are a bunch of spoiled little brats who wouldn't know what a real fun game was if it ambushed them and fragged them out of their miserable existence of playing the same lame and repetitive generic FPS games for years, because they're slaves to pretty graphics and special effects, or because they're still too much of a child to outgrow the latest recycled incarnations of Mario & Zelda. There's plenty of great 3rd party games for the Wii now that aren't party games or casual crap for the masses, but you have to stop playing all your 360/PS3/PC games long enough to give them a chance to impress you. However, that means you have to stop trolling the internet looking for more places to tell everyone why the Wii sucks and Nintendo pissed you off long enough to forget that you're not playing them on your 360/PS3/PC too.
