telegraph.co.uk — The Saudis are once again showing the world that they lead by example when it comes to executing women. The girl, 17 at the time of the alleged crime, was tortured until she confessed to choking a baby. She had no lawyer present at her trial, and the government is preparing to behead her in front of a crowd of onlookers.

You guys are hillarious. Look what's happening in our own backyard. <a class="user" href="http://www.ncadp.org/html/fact1.html">http://www.ncadp.org/html/fact1.html</a>Man, the ethnocentricity is pungent.

Hear me out.The truth is if someone killed another INTENSIONALLY and it was proven by way of the court or judicial system (which requires the murder to be proven without doubt) then and only then may the death penalty be used HOWEVER forgiveness and compassion are strongly encouraged from the victims side. The murder victim's family is given a choice to either insist on the death penalty, or to pardon the perpetrator and accept monetary compensation for their loss... Quran (2:178)Life is sacred in Islam (I know it sounds crazy judging by so called Muslims today) the death penalty is mostly meant to serve as a deterrent.I can provide further proofs from the Quran or other sources if someone wants.

Actually they are not that close. Whenever Bush is in the company of a Saudi dignitary, you will always see the Saudi sit first. This is a signal that the President is considered inferior by the protocol people. In a couple of occasions the Saudi Prince even is allowed to place his right hand on the shoulder of the president, something which would get you killed in a country governed by Sharia law, since it is a symbol of subservience, over the recipient.I was in Jordan many years ago, and a fight broke out in the Bazaar, because a vendor had placed his right hand on a man's shoulder, in full view of other men. If the customer had not fought back, the other men could immediately assume that the customer was the property of the vendor, and the vendor would have them as witnesses to his submission. For Bush to allow a Muslim man to place his right hand on his shoulder on national TV, is offensive. It would have been more appropriate for Bush to knock the prince out with a right hook, the moment it happened.

Actually the Sharia laws are very strict in demanding for evidence / witnesses if someone is accused of murder. This has been circumvented by the authorities by obtaining a "confession"!. The girl was in Saudi Arabia only for one week and couldn't speak Arabic or English (she spoke only tamil). She was 17 (born in 1988) and therefore a minor. There is no way she could have "confessed". This shows how the authorities are using torture and plain lying to circumvent the Sharia laws. The event is more to do with bypassing laws and the brutality of the Saudis rather than the Sharia laws and Islam. I hope Rizanan Nafeek is exhonerated.
