@shikamoo: Total non-sequitor. I am responding to the part of what you said that I quoted, which was INCORRECT.

I do realize that what I posted is more black & white than what is in the Bible, guilty there. You apparently don't understand the makeup of the Old Testament. There are 3 parts to it, with "the Law" being Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. This was supposedly written by Moses around 1450 B.C., although it is likely that this was written down from a number of stories from different tribes combined into a single book (thus the "doublets"). This is the foundation of the entire Bible. So again explain to me how if we no longer need to follow the 600+ rules of the Law, then why does that not include the Ten Commandments? Additionally, if you look into how the New Testament was actually written is impossible to know what it should really say.The fallacy isn't so much my argument but with the Bible contradicting itself on so many issues. As you pointed out, within the same chapter Jesus tells us to follow the Law to the letter while at the same time telling us not to. How does one know which rules to actually follow? God gave you a specific rule to follow, then later provides vague text contradicting himself. Why does God even allow this text in the Bible? Why not specifically clarify these issues?

Islam is 600 years younger than Christianity. Their is no root connection between Judeo / Christianity and Islam. None whatsoever.

No I don't.But it's very easy to sit over here in America and call the Saudis names, but what help is that? If we in the west are such a bastion of intellect and righteousness then we should be above these sorts of knee-jerk reactions. It's not cool that Saudi Arabia has these customs, but things are improving, and that's the important thing.

Yes but it's not up to us to decide how the Saudis govern their country. Wag your fingers at them all you like, but they have to grow out of this sort of barbarism in their own way.

Every time I read an article about these backwards f**king camel herders, I get more and more pissed off. And I used to tell others that Islam was the "religion of peace".I wish we could send the middle east back to the Iron Age where it belongs.
