I think it effects the race because one of the main reasons Mccain tapped her was to woo Clinton supporters. If they hear her referring to their fallen hero as the "Bitch" beaten by a "Sambo," it'll turn a lot of people off.

Wow, the hits just keep on rolling. Every time I think this woman is going to hit rock bottom, she finds a whole new level to fall to. It's fun in a way, but sad at the same time.

While I agree it certainly won't help her to have these stories floating about - that this is something that cannot be solidly proven. There are a lot of other stories / scandals that are fact and that will be more damaging - but ultimately, this is down to who presents us with a story that makes us believe they can change broken government and failed policy - so far Obama has been focusing on that and I'd say thats the crucial strategy for him to become President.

I believe this is true. In line with the values and character she has demonstrated. Also see all the Alaskans (mostly female) show up to protest Palin, saying "Voted for her Once / Never Again" and "GW Bush with Lipstick":http://www.snopes.com/politics/palin/rally.aspSo this is the best the right wing can come up with? A senile old man, with an imbecile for a running mate?Remember, the right wing doesn't need smart people. The new Republican philosophy is simple: throw $billions$ at the CEOs, and hope it trickles down. When it doesn't, blame the gays, the jews, people of color, immigrants... Even somebody with an IQ in the low 90's can grasp this "trickle down" ideology. Problem is, not only is it morally bankrupt, it's bankrupting our country.
