macrumors.com — Apple's Safari web browser has crested 7% of worldwide browser market share according to online research firm Net Applications. While Safari's accomplishment is significant the biggest winner is clearly Mozilla's Firefox which crested 20% market share and climbed nearly an entire percentage point in one month.

It's actually good practise not to have users playing around with the OS files. That's why they are locked up. Can you not see why maybe that's a good idea?

Well first you should monitor growth as a ratio of the market share of the product itself and the increase. The ratio of growth for OS X is therefore "viewed" as larger than that of Vista. Also, your figure of OS X's market share as 6.51% is incorrect. If you were looking at the Operating System Versions page you should add both MacOS and MacIntel, which MacOS would mean the PowerPC processor computers, and MacIntel would obviously be Intel processor Macs

1)They did not make the conclusion that OS X is on the rise from the statistics of Safari. There are actually another page dedicated to tracking OS market share2)Probably more than half the mac users use FireFox. I am using Safari because it's lighter and will switch to chrome when it comes out3)You can further split the usage of Safari as of Version, where Safari has around 5%, I believeand please RTFA before you post

"Completely disagree. The original theme for firefox on the Mac looked totally out of place. The new theme (almost identical to Safari) is perfect for the Mac."I don't mean the original theme for Mac - I mean the original version of the theme they use now. It was far better at first, but they uglified it to make it look more like the Windows one...

@wikinerd - That's pure nonsense.Global market share includes the US figures. Otherwise it wouldn't be global figures, would it? Sheesh!Use some common sense. The US market accounts for 15% of all current domestic computer usage on the planet. That means the rest of the world accounts for 85% of all the domestic computers out there. Macs account for 9.5% of the US market (latest figures). That means the US mac market alone only accounts for 9.5% (let's call it 10% just to make the math easy) of that 15% of US global computer share. That works out to 1.5% of the entire global market, of which the US is only one of the major players. Therefore mac machines in the US alone only account for 1.5% of the total number of computers used for personal use. The other figure you need to take note of is that a little less than HALF of all macs sold per year are actually sold in the US. In other words, for every mac sold in the US, there's maybe 1.2 -1.4 sold outside the US. That means that the 1.5% figure inside the US is matched by at least 1.5% sold outside the US, giving the grand total of just over 3% of the total number of computers on the planet. If you don't get it yet, go ask your math teacher.

shocking as i don't like safari its too apple oriented and prefer the firefox browser its more efficient considering many more things can be achieved and its quite fast as opposed to safari.http://www.spreadingyourknowledge.com/
