I agree.I also think that the port 80 idea is NOT a good plan. But, there has to be some way to block access to these sites without needing to use bloated filtering software that hogs resources and slows down internet browsing speeds, or without handing over my ability to choose which websites I can access to an ISP that filters content. The sentiment behind the port 80 idea, as well as the .xxx domain, is good. It would be so much easier to simply have a checkbox in my settings somewhere that would disallow certain categories of content based on some sort of tagging system that comes from the source. The problem is that greedy folks won't play by the rules even if such a system is in place. "Reputable" sites would still get traffic, but the sites that bring you into their tawdry web with deceitful links and then hurl never-ending pop-ups at you would continue to do their business the same way. So it's left to the end-user to install the bloated filtering software.
Isn't there a program that allows you to access only predetermined sites from a certain account, cant this just be the solution if your kids want to access something new just check it out and ad it to the list if it is "clean", if you say that would take to long than you are a lazy f**k and should not have children anyways.
I don't agree with any software solutions. They just attack the symptom of the problems.Jail for anyone dumb enough to work in the prostitution industry. Min 8 years. Take the money they have and repay the national debt with it.
Since I live in Utah I can tell you what is wrong with the people here. Religious Dogma. That's it end of story, if this place wasn't run by mormons it would be a better place to live.
what does "tinfoil" have to do with anything to begin with, jason?just come out with a punch and expect me to be like, "AH, YESSSAW, I'Z GETS RIGHTS TO THAT, SAW! I'Z BE CAVIN' IN RIGHTS AWAY, WHATEVUH YOU SAY, SAW!"
I think the government should not be involved in every in aspect of society. This is a issue that is old as humans. When people get tired of porn popping up on their PC they will do something about it. I doubt everyone will get to that point. there will always be that 18-27 group that is prime target market.

Not to mention who decides what a "site" is...Are they going to ban all of Flicker because someone posts a topless photo?
