The reveals at SDCC have convinced me there is a good chance this movie will not suck.
antdudeJul 26, 2010
Maybe. There are many other parts that need to make it not suck!
jcassJul 26, 2010
High hopes with low expectations...
mandraqueJul 26, 2010
Ryan Reinold to you meant this movie is gona be good? Hes gona have to match the performance of heath ledger as the joker, he is in no way qualified to try.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Many people have been waiting a long time for this movie to come to its fans.
Closed AccountJul 26, 2010
But have they been waiting for Ryan Reynolds?
frostbytJul 26, 2010
To bad Ryan Reynolds is in it.
Meh I will wait for it to be on Netflix.
supermandathoeJul 25, 2010
this looks HORRIBLE
mrj777Jul 25, 2010
Then return to watching Jersey Shore or Twilight or whatever you kids think requires caps locks to show emphasis.
ajajadudeJul 25, 2010
A video recording of something that I'm assuming was at Comic Con?
mrj777Jul 25, 2010
As a giant Green Lantern fan, finally hearing him recite the oath and reading all the reveals for the series... ok. I'm on board. I'm getting excited. My worry is they would make it too inaccessible or too much in one movie. It looks like they are staying with a variation of the actual origin story and "Secret Origins". They are obviously gonna try to make the Green Lantern movies as mainstream as the Iron Man movies... but after reading what the cast and Geoff Johns had to say about it... I'm pretty damned excited. I just hope they don't ruin it. Green Lantern is the reason I still read comics. For the last few years its been the most rewarding episodic content out there.
zomgitsradimusJul 25, 2010
Ryan Reynolds is one of those celebrities you'd want to have a drink with... all of the snobby ones who are rude to people should take notes.
tukaJul 26, 2010
Or..... you can pull a halle berry and bitch about how much it sucks being storm because its the only work a black actress could find. GO f**kING WAIT TABLES HALLE.
PS, don't know much about GL but Reynolds can't be a bad choiceComment is buried, click here to see the rest.
ficklefidelityJul 25, 2010
lol i thought it was really corny
clevercommenterJul 25, 2010
So who asked him the question and was seen as the crows as cute? the 7-9 year old shown for 2 seconds? or the dweeby kid that was put up there 3 random times doing nothing.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
mrj777Jul 25, 2010
the kid. it was the young red headed boy.
dalpalJul 25, 2010
obviously fake. only girls "aww" like that, and there were far too many aww's given that the video was supposedly taken at comic-con
clevercommenterJul 25, 2010
dude, chicks dig comic-con. Not sure why, but I have a theory that they like the costumes.
ruckfulesJul 25, 2010
Chicks dig Ryan Reynolds. Let's not get confused about why they were there. I'm actually pretty sure that most of them didn't even know why he was there, except that he was there.
hybred1234Jul 25, 2010
Yeah, this "girls don't exist" s**t is not getting old at all...

In brightest day, in blackest night
No evil shall escape my sight
Let those who worship evil's might
Beware my power, Green Lantern's light!

In blackest day, in brightest night,
Beware your fears made into light
Let those who try to stop what’s right,
Burn like my power…Sinestro’s might
warp25Jul 25, 2010
For heart's long lost and full of fright
For those alone in the blackest night
Accept our ring and join our fight
Love conquers all with violet light
...maybe in the third movie
bulletbillxJul 25, 2010
In loudest din or hush profound
My ears catch evil's slightest sound
Let those who toll out evil's knell
Beware my power, the F-Sharp Bell!

With blood and rage of crimson red,
Ripped from a corpse so freshly dead,
Together with our hellish hate,
We'll burn you all--That is your fate!
zomgwafflesJul 26, 2010
In fearful day, in raging night,
With strong hearts full, our souls ignite,
When all seems lost in the War of Light,
Look to the stars-- For hope burns bright!
spacejackJul 26, 2010
...and I shall shed my light over dark evil.
For the dark things cannot stand the light,
The light of the Green Lantern!
Well, somebody's gotta represent for the old school...
pwotJul 25, 2010
Nobody else thinks this was staged? That the kid was planted in the audience with that question specifically so it'd create a viral video? Or am I just jaded?Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
mrj777Jul 25, 2010
You are jaded. The set up was giving away his Green Lantern ring at the end of the panel. That was real. When asked about it later in interviews he said he was waiting for the right moment to say the oath in public for the first time.
sirbetaJul 25, 2010
I dugg you up because it's a legitimate position to be in, but you are just jaded. I do not think this was a set up.
atsguyJul 25, 2010
They are filming the movie down here in new orleans right now. A buddy of mine who drives a cab said he drove him around, he said he was a reeally cool and funny dude.
now he is 2 superheroes...deadpool and greenlantern!
poblasaiJul 26, 2010
While the Wolverine movie sucked, I think he is the perfect choice for Deadpool.
This gives me hope that he'll make a good Green Lantern.
I think he gets and appreciates source material and his fans.
rizzosbackJul 26, 2010
Deadpool is most certainly not a superhero.
colonchancerJul 25, 2010
Go on then I'll buy a ticket. Maybe even take my boy, provided he can memorise The Oath.
z3r0c0o1Jul 25, 2010
Haha, the look on that kid's face at the end was priceless.
imissnaptimeJul 25, 2010
how awkward would that have been if he didnt know what it was?!
tyrghastJul 25, 2010
Maybe this will make up for him butchering Deadpool in one of the worst movies of all time.
imissnaptimeJul 25, 2010
i think the movie butchered deadpool, he's actually not that bad an actor.
ajajadudeJul 25, 2010
Yeah, that wasn't actually Reynolds who played the "Deadpool" guy at the end of Wolverine.
falconearJul 26, 2010
And he was pretty cool in the beginning as Wade Wilson. Coolest part of the whole damned movie.
willthewayJul 25, 2010
Can't wait for the Blackest Night movie!
jhole04Jul 25, 2010
f**k Ryan Reynolds. Being with Scarlett Johansson and being a super hero is just greedy.
zomgitsradimusJul 25, 2010
Oh don't worry, Scarlett will do plenty of the "f**king" of Ryan Reynolds... no need to get out of your computer chair.

I like the black GL from the cartoon series, what actor could play him?

I dont know why but I think Denzel would do an awesome job.
sniperhareJul 26, 2010
Found this while searching, Nick Jones with a cameo as John Stewart?

iamsmoothJul 26, 2010
Since Phil LaMarr already has the voice down, just get him to buff up like crazy and bam, perfect John Stewart.

I want to like this, but Ryan has a lot to make up for doing that Deadpool debacle in 'Wolverine'.
arjtinJul 26, 2010
You can't blame him. The parts where they let him talk were the only good parts.
Closed AccountJul 26, 2010
Yeah, I can. For someone who is supposedly a big DP fan as he is, he should have just walked off. In reality I know that was not going to fix the problem...but still.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
iatethecrayonJul 26, 2010
@marmotjmarmot
you can't just "walk off" if you don't like something, that's completely unprofessional and would have ruined his chances of being deadpool in any other spinoff and he really seems like he loves the character.
plus marvel is gaining control of more the movie rights to its own creations now that they have their own studio going.

Green Lantern is what got me into comics back in January 2009, and he's become my favorite super hero as a result.
I am so stoked for this movie.
blacklilyninjaJul 26, 2010
i dont like it when one person plays 2 different heroes from same universe. let alone 2 different heroes.
i mean whats with the human torch playing captain america.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
jonnyviceJul 26, 2010
i just don't like it when one actor plays different characters in a single comic film universe: ryan reynolds as hannibal king/deadpool, chris evans as human torch/captain america, sam elliot as caretaker/general ross, jon favreau as foggy nelson/happy hogan, etc. him playing one character from marvel and one from dc is alright with me though.
sexyloserJul 26, 2010
Nathan Fillion should have been the Green Lantern!!

mcnerdJul 26, 2010
Honestly GL is a cool hero, but the obligatory inclusion of this oath is going to be the worst part of the movie. It works on paper (sort of), but onscreen it's going to be embarrassingly awful.
In the wise words of Harrison Ford to George Lucas: "You know, you can write this stuff, but you sure can't say it." (Shame Ford is too old for the role: the "I'm rolling my eyes on the inside" delivery he used in Star Wars is probably the only way to salvage this situation.)
atsguyJul 27, 2010
YEa...i guess it was apparent out of his anti-social/psychotic behavior...but other than the random killing and insults, he is a role model :D
