That was just about the longest article I've ever read on Paul. Now I regret not haven taken Speed Reading course years ago :)Great read though. Very articulate, engaging and accurate. Among the best....Kudos!
Excellent article. I disagree with Ron Paul on the environment, abortion, net neutrality, and probably a number of other issues, but he is the only candidate I currently trust to uphold the constitution and to perhaps repair some of the damage that has recently been done to it. I'm for one am happy to be excited about politics again. I can't wait for the Iowa straw poll on the 11th. Go Ron Paul!
The current administration is using executive orders for everything from political dissent to destroying environmental regulation. I think the situation with environmental protection will be vastly improved once Ron wipes the slate on these unconstitutional abuses. His methods are not like most candidates so its understandable that his lack of support for regulation in an area might suggest he's given tacit approval to abuse, but that stands at contrast with his earnest support for life and liberty, and transparent government with accountability. Clearly, his merits outweigh any misgivings one might have with him on, say, immigration or abortion.
This is the best article on Ron Paul I've seen yet. He still isn't my first choice for president, but its nice to see some objective reporting for once and not any of this "Ron Paul is teh evil web spammer" or "Ron Paul is God!" crap.
I'm glad that The Stranger has done such a thorough review on his views and policies. On one hand, I like some of his views but on the other hand, I conflict with his views on abortion and net neutrality among others. However, I'd really love something this clear on every candidate... if that's even possible. Others seem to be so closed or they speak in constrained legalese or political correct terms. I do say I like the "straight-shooter" mentality of Ron Paul even if some of his shooting is missing my targets.
Telling comment FTA: "Boyapati recently became a U.S. citizen after emigrating from Australia... Studying the Constitution in order to become a citizen made Boyapati even more furious about the Iraq war and the USA PATRIOT Act, and he intends to do all he can to help Paul get the Republican nomination so he can vote for him next November."Doubtless this gentleman knows more about the Constitution than 90% of folks born here!
