AWESOME! now i can run ubuntu on my vista machine and usa an emulator in linux to run windows programs.what a world we live in!!!does any1 else find this app incredible useless?
@roimaThat's only because a lot of the really good Linux apps have Windows ports. This package would eliminate the need for the Linux developers to even compile a Windows binary, let a lone develop and test one. It would drastically reduce the time needed to write a program, and allow for instant cross platform deployment. Assuming of course that it performs as advertised.
Not like there are a lot of apps that I run in Linux that don't already have Windows binaries somewhere. I would be really interested in seeing the difference in resource usage between something like lina+gimp and windows native gimp. I guess we'll see.
Why, oh why, would a community that aspires to convert everyone from Windows to Linux and kill the big bad M$ then turn around and WANT to run M$ apps? Confused logic.
Convert everyone from Windows? Some Linux users just think 0% marketshare is a bit unfair. Maybe you're just selfish and believe Microsoft deserves 96% of the pie?Running Windows applications is important because thats what lots of people want and wont settle with alternatives yet companies have no interest in supporting Linux because its small. So Linux doesnt get the software people want, so they aren't interested in Linux yet companies wont port their apps because there isn't many people using Linux. It's a double edge sword that can only be broken by allowing Windows applications and games to run.
