Hey delta407, is this true (timing req) for the new 1.2 version? I thought they got rid of that requirement? Haven't had the time/balls to upgrade yet or to test on a VM for that matter.
Lotsa slashdotty comments here. I found the tutorial to be very succinct and to the point. One thing that I discovered was that I can't use a zap-tel card under it because the VM won't access the hardware. Looking back ... duh. Or perhaps I'm just stupid

Ummmm... Why? Asterisk under Linux is stable and fast. Asterisk running in a VM under Windows? I wouldn't want to bet my business on it.

I recommend FreeSWITCH, a truly cross-platform switch/b2bua, it's a lot better than Asterisk and runs natively on Linux, Windows, Mac.<a class="user" href="http://www.freeswitch.org/" rel="nofollow">http://www.freeswitch.org/</a>&quot;How does FreeSWITCH compare to Asterisk?"<a class="user" href="http://www.freeswitch.org/node/117" rel="nofollow">http://www.freeswitch.org/node/117</a>
