Thank god Ron Paul is running for president!

Bin Ladin mentioned that Israel was part of the reason.
bigboomer223May 24, 2007
Paul's press release contained the following "Cliff Notes" for Giuliani:#"His [bin Laden] rhetoric selectively draws from multiple sources -- Islam, history, and the region's political and economic malaise. He also stresses grievances against the United States widely shared in the Muslim world. He inveighed against the presence of U.S. troops in Saudi Arabia, the home of Islam's holiest sites. He spoke of the suffering of the Iraqi people as a result of sanctions imposed after the Gulf War..."-- 9/11 Commission Report, pages 48-49"There are a lot of things that are different now [after the invasion of Iraq], and one that has gone by almost unnoticed -- but it's huge -- is that by complete mutual agreement between the US and the Saudi government we can now remove almost all of our forces from Saudi Arabia. Their presence there over the last 12 years has been a source of enormous difficulty for a friendly government. It's been a huge recruiting device for al-Qaeda. In fact if you look at bin Laden, one of his principle grievances was the presence of so- called crusader forces on the holy land, Mecca and Medina. I think just lifting that burden from the Saudis is itself going to open the door to other positive things."-- Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, Vanity Fair, May 2003"One of the greatest dangers for Americans in deciding how to confront the Islamist threat lies in continuing to believe -- at the urging of senior U.S. leaders -- that Muslims hate and attack us for what we are and think, rather than for what we do. The Islamic world is not so offended by our democratic system of politics, guarantees of personal rights and civil liberties, and separation of church and state that it is willing to wage war against overwhelming odds in order to stop Americans from voting, speaking freely, and praying, or not, as they wish."-- Michael Scheuer, Imperial Hubris, page 8"We assume, moreover, that bin Laden and the Islamists hate us for our liberty, freedoms, and democracy -- not because they and many millions of Muslims believe U.S. foreign policy is an attack on Islam or because the U.S. military now has a ten-year record of smashing people and things in the Islamic world."-- Michael Scheuer, Imperial Hubris, page 165"The U.S. invasion of Iraq is Osama bin Laden's gift from America, one he has long and ardently desired, but never realistically expected."-- Michael Scheuer, Imperial Hubris, page 213"Although suicide terrorism is virtually always a response to foreign occupation, only some occupations lead to this result. Suicide terrorism is most likely when the occupying power's religion differs from the religion of the occupied, for three reasons. A conflict across a religious divide increases fears that the enemy will seek to transform the occupied society; makes demonization, and therefore killing, of enemy civilians easier; and makes it easier to use one's own religion to relabel suicides that would otherwise be taboo as martyrdom instead."-- Robert A. Pape, Dying to Win, page 22"An attempt to transform Muslim societies through regime change is likely to dramatically increase the threat we face. The root cause of suicide terrorism is foreign occupation and the threat that foreign military presence poses to the local community's way of life. ... Even if our intentions are good, anti-American terrorism would likely grow, and grow rapidly."-- Robert A. Pape, Dying to Win, page 245"The suicidal assassins of September 11, 2001 did not 'attack America,' as political leaders and news media in the United States have tried to maintain; they attacked American foreign policy. Employing the strategy of the weak, they killed innocent bystanders, whose innocence is, of course, no different from that of the civilians killed by American bombs in Iraq, Serbia, Afghanistan, and elsewhere."-- Chalmers Johnson, Blowback, page XV"The term 'blowback,' which officials of the Central Intelligence Agency first invented for their own internal use, is starting to circulate among students of international relations. It refers to the unintended consequences of policies that were kept secret from the American people. What the daily press reports as the malign acts of 'terrorists' or 'drug lords' or 'rogue states' or 'illegal arms merchants' often turn out to be blowback from earlier American operations."-- Chalmers Johnson, Blowback, page 8

It is simply hard to believe the Rudy was so ignorant to some of the basic "takeaways" of the huge 9/11 report, as he actually testified before the committee at great length, but he sure made it apparent he either missed the memo or didn't care because he wanted the quick win (which most thinkers think was a set up at this point anyhow). Just wait til they see him in drag...put a fork in him, he's about done! Fred Thompson, do we really need a professional actor in the White House, when most career politicians are already "playing" the part so well. Poor mainstream press trying so desperately to digg up some new "mainstream candidates" (PUN INTENDED). Dr. Paul is simply America's (Dem and Rep and everything in between) best hope to restore our downtrodden constitution. He is so Anti everything seen on Power of Nightmares and/or Century of Self.Let Freedom Ring Again!!!

look Ron Paul isnt Perfect give the Guy a break, he is Human. Not all his policies are good but overall he represents something different, at least some sort of hope, an outsider not caught up in the money and power of washington and entrenched interests masquerading as conservatism. what the country needs is a break form the imperial militarism that is tearing it apart, Paul offers the best hope for that. it is the most important issue today. the other candidates are gung ho warriors who think might is right.Giuliani is a reactionary, who doesnt listen to anyone and makes Bush look like a scholar, lets tear down Guiliani and his ilk and provide a platform for some of Ron Pauls ideas to disseminate. Four years of Giuliani, i thought the Bush years were depressing!

Yeah, anyone that holds an opinion of a different 9/11 story or a different JFK story or a different Oklahoma City bombing story than that promoted by our government is a wacko. Until you 1) accept the possibility of an alternative story and 2) make a small, honest effort at listening to the other ideas.Have you ever seen the Zapruder film? What it shows is not evidence of a conspiracy by the whole government, but strongly suggest a shooter from the front. (alternate explanation)The Operation Northwoods document doesn't prove that our government has or would commit murderous acts just to create an excuse to go to war, but the suggestion is there.I saw the Discovery Channel film and it looked plausible at the time. But when I heard dissent, accusations that it wasn't that simple, I looked into it more and read a few books, watched many videos. I was unpleasantly astonished. Do stories of explosions prior to the collapse, the 47 steel beams NOT standing after the "pancake collapse", the huge pools of molten steel in the twin tower basements 6 WEEKS after the collapse, these are not proof of government involvement. But the fact that the anti-aircraft batteries didn't fire from the Pentagon and the government's refusal to release the numerous videos does suggest some complicity. That and the fact that Mr. Bin Laden doesn't benefit from the attack as much as Big Oil and US Defense contractors.Be a little skeptical, if you are willing.

I noticed one of your sources is very reliable. I mean, a liberal site like daily kos would definitely attack a real conservative like Ron Paul without any bias or personal gain in mind. It just makes sense!

"There is no evidence that US involvement in Iraq had anything to do with the masterminds behind the 9-11 attacks. "I would have to agree with you... as I am currently hopped up on drugs and death-defyingly drunk. My educated self would say that "So they like attacking us because we exist? I mean, that is the only other explanation. Because it is obvious that the 9/11 Commission Report didn't say there was blowback. Am I right?"
