The point is, they were investigating politically motivated voter fraud cases against Democrats, which when nothing turned up in the course of the investigation, meant they were subject to being dismissed.What makes this a travesty is not that they were fired (it's the Presidents right, granted), and not even so much the justification for their firing (job performance is a valid issue), but more the issue of "prosecutorial independence", i.e. the notion that once appointed these employees work for the American people, not the political wing of a single party.But I guess that so long as their work benefits the agenda of the GOP ahead of the American people, that's ok with you.
