news.yahoo.com — Bush is allowing his chief political strategist, Karl Rove, to be interviewed, but only if its not "under-oath." God forbid he might be forced to tell the truth! Though men like him aren't swayed by little things like lying on the Bible. Digg this if you think this is more hypocritical, half-assed commitment to truth from the Bush administration

It's because in Washington the only thing that is apparently illegal is perjury. Nixon was not almost impeached for being an accessory to breaking and entering it was for lying about it. Clinton was impeached not for adultery but for lying under oath. Scooter Libby outed an undercover CIA operative a crime that skirts close to treason and the only charges that stick are perjury. So as long as you are not under oath you cannot commit perjury and their for apparently can't be found guilty of any crime

@powerpants:My point is, How can Democrats be so "righteously indignant" about Bush (who is not a criminal) when they didn't remove Clinton from office (who IS a criminal)?I mean, fer cryin out loud, the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES was SEXUALLY ASSAULTING women in the OVAL OFFICE, and the largest feminist organizations in America were virtually silent on the issue, as if we had dialed back the clock a few hundred years to when women were subservient to men and were just supposed to "shut up and take it".Instead, Democrats get worked up about non-issues, like a CIA employee who wasn't in the field and had "outed" herself to the press, or a bunch of rich lawyers that Bush fired because a) he didn't like the job they were doing and b) it was entirely his right to do so.

It doesnt have to hold up in court unless its perjury. These are lies unless you're saying all those things are factually accurate. Are you?

There will be a transcript, and you do get punished with jail time for 5 years if you lie to Congress. People are overlooking simple facts here. There simply won't be an *open* transcript, meaning it won't be shown to newspapers, etc. but the Senate will be able to see the transcript of the case and judge whether or not he is lying. If he does lie, he will be put in jail.

I see the liberals have pulled out the "hate (fill-in the blank)" article again. It must be time to feed the hate-filled sharks once again. God forbid somebody actually disagree with their hatred or you get dugg down."Hatred is something peculiar. You will always find it strongest and most violent where there is the lowest degree of culture."Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Imagine that.... the Prince Himself believes he alone should call the shots here. Well, anyone surprised he tried? Bush's number one tactic is to lie until the acuser gives up. Kinda makes ya think of a kid who was caught with his hand in the cookie jar.... lie, lie, then lie some more. I knew a kid like that, and interstingly enough he claims to be a conservative too. I really wish folks like him would reframe from calling themselves conservative... there is nothing conservative about greed or lying, however it seems common in today's conservative media circles and Congress itself.

A lot of Bush Derangement Syndrome on display, I see. Hate hate hate, all you have is hate. News flash: Hate isn't a rational argument, and no "fact" based upon it or that is a prerequisite to some "understanding" of the situation has credibility. It's already been pointed out, but LYING TO CONGRESS IS ILLEGAL. No oath is necessary. This was pointed out by the White House, so they are fully aware of the fact. Your spinning only accomplishes getting yourselves dizzy with rage.

You know, I'm still waiting for the day that this administration just comes out and says, "America, you got punk'd."

"Just my opinion." And you're entitled to it, however blatantly wrong it may be, and in fact is. Guess what? Fox News is a credible source and has never been proven otherwise. Know what that means? When partisans call Fox News biased, they give up the ability to defend CNN which has been proven by UCLA (hardly a conservative school) and others to be AT LEAST as far to the Left as Fox is to the Right. Secondly, when partisans outright slam Fox News and call it "Faux News," they give up credibility since that is currently an untenable position based on hate and partisan lies.

Accidentally dugg todalion's post. I don't care if you agree with me politically, you don't have to be so vulgar about it.

@GenghisCon "10 f**king years ago"then why not do what you liberalists always want to do: give them some more time... then nothing will matter. As nothing is true and life has no value I strongly suggest you and all of like "thinking" succeed at seppuku tonight.

Under Oath or not. Does it matter?
