worldnetdaily.com — Ron Paul's zealots are attempting to undermine the Republican nomination process in a disingenuous manner. They are also attempting to make ridiculous changes to the GOP Party Platform, such as repealing the Patriotic Act, legalizing marijuana, and other Liberal and Libertarian positions. Also, check out http://www.ronpaulexposed.blogspot.com

Yeah, right. We know that it's not all as innocent as just that. Puh-lease! The truth is that they want to change the rules to allow for delegates to be unbound and then they will vote for Ron Paul and even if they do not succeed in changing the rules, they intend to vote for Ron Paul anyway and face whatever civil lawsuits that the GOP may bring against them for it. They also intend to change key components to the Party Platform to make it not even look like the GOP, but rather like the Libertarian Party, including repeal of the Patriot Act, the legalization of drugs, and the removal of the Human Life Amendment plank. And they fully intend to lie about it if they have to. This real conservative says that they need to take their liberal and libertarian trite and just go join some other party, because we don't need that trash. It's bad enough that they deface government property and act rudely to everyone, which is an embarrassment to the Republican name. We are the party that ended slavery and even attempted to pass the 1st Civil Rights Act way back in 1895. We have a lot to be proud of and these Ron Paul following maniacs are giving our good party a bad name! Hijacking of a party is not respectable, If you want to make incremental changes, then work for it, but don't think that we're just going to allow you to come and hijack our entire party when you're acting like a bunch of out of control freaks. Quit acting like no one else has ever heard of the constitution. You all act like it's some new concept. What you don't realize is that the majority of us have been taking it seriously all along and you are the only ones who just discovered it's existance. Tell it to the Democrats who still don't have a clue about it, but don't come lecturing us here at the GOP. We already know all about it and could have taught you plenty. Quit screwing around when it comes to national security, too. It's way to important! I will not be standing idly by, while you try to talk people into thinking that we can provide good protection by staying here in Fortress America in 2008 (and not even use wire-tapping to catch terrorist), until the mushroom clouds start to rise. You won't have 1 meaningful thing to say after that happens, because you'll be ashamed that you ever took these positions, without first diligently looking into opposing viewpoints.

Actually, it is the neocons that are attempting to distort the Republican Party platform. Have you read the original platform lately?

We should be careful about the language we use. Ron Paul is not actually saying that as President he would "legalize Marijuana". That is not the Constitutionalist position. What he says is that it is not a Federal matter, and that the Federal government should not be getting involved in state issues. I would agree that if Ron Paul were a representative in a state legislature, he would probably vote for legalization, but that is not what this election is about. What a Ron Paul presidency would mean for the legal status of Marijuana, or any other drug, would be that states would be free in their own sovereignty to legislate however they see fit, and the results of these experiments would be available to every other state for comparison and possible change. This is part of the greatness of the American experiment. We should never run around saying that the Ron Paul candidacy is about "legalizing marijuana". It isn't. No more than saying that there being no federal laws against murder means that the US has "legalized murder".
