Ron Paul is a flat out stud. I don't understand why some Americans don't like him? He's one of the only politicians who's actually working for people's freedom. I also don't understand why every ADULT in a FREE society wouldn't want the freedom to be able to choose?
Prohibition empowers black market cartels, drains taxpayer resources, misuses law enforcement resources, does not solve the problem of abuse, and wastes further resources on courts and prisons for non-violent individuals. In a supposedly free and responsible society, the overwhelming urge of central bureaucrats to micro-manage the world in their nanny state image is quite nonsensical.
Notice he didn't laugh off the seriousness of the situation like Mr.CHANGE Obama. You wan't REAL meaningful change, listen to what Ron Paul is talking about and STUDY deeper into what he is saying. Initially I thought the guy was a loon but after having done a LOT of research I was able to come to agreement with him on many, many issues I previously was at odds with him about. The War on Drugs being one of them.
"Prohibition laws negate self-ownership and are an absolute affront to the principles of freedom".yep, that sums it up, its all about the govt not letting its citizen have these simple freedoms.
I really don't think it pays politically...even now...to support drug reform. There's still too many parents who cannot or will not control their children and so they fight to take away civil liberties for all to make their lives easier.I call this the 6:00 news crowd. Every day they lead with some bulls**t headline like "What's putting your children in danger!? Find out at 6:00!" and stir the populous into a hysterical frenzy about all the different ways their children are going to get f**ked up if they don't tune in".You and your stoned bus-driver comment are a prime example.

Prohibition is a disaster that only makes money for drug lords and the private prison industry.
