I just don't see how some people don't get this. The notion that legalizing it would create more users is nonsense. It is well understood that most who want to smoke weed will do so whether there are laws against it. The people who need it, and are afraid to use it because of the Federal govt. are forced to support big pharma, and are making things worse for themselves because of all of the side effects of pharmaceuticals. A lot of these drugs have side effects worse than the original complaint. I mean, for crying out loud, listen to the ads! Some of them CAUSE cancer. How is it that the FDA thinks this s**t is o.k.? Think money has much to do with it?
Whew. Dugg then. And under RP's proposed system of states' rights, there'd probably be "dry counties" just like we have today with alcohol, only they'd probably be called something more creative.
That DEA agent is trying to claim that legalizing drugs would make them easier for kids to get. Bulls**t! In high school, what was always easier for us to get- pot or alcohol? If you legalize drugs, you allow businesses to manufacture them safely, and they would be subject to the Pure Food and Drug Act as well as all other safety laws, which would eradicate impure drugs (meth, crack, etc). They would be much cheaper, so there would be absolutely no market, thus no money/power, for the drug lords running our neighborhoods. It would be like brewing your own liquor today and trying to sell it on the street.
After fifteen years I finally landed a job that doesn't drug test and now I have no dope smoking friends. And I really don't want to go to the part of town and deal with certain types of people that sell weed in little pouches. I'm hoping to spark up a weed conversation when the time is right at work. This is why it should be legal. Guys like me just want a little crumb to get high on a friday and play on my xbox. But nooooo I have to engage in criminal activities that could put my entire family at risk. Again just for a little bit of a wonder medicinal plant that when smoke brings to life some of the most mundane aspects of life. What the hell is the harm in that? It horses**t I tell ya!
