What annoys me is they invite someone onto their program, let him talk about his points of view, but completely ignore him. After Ron Paul has talked for about a minute about how our foreign policies have been poor, the interviewer asks, "Would you just like Iran to have nukes?" which Ron Paul responds to easily. They are giving alternate perspectives air time, which is good. But the interviewers are paying absolutely no attention and just reading the next question off the teleprompter, which is bad.
Actually the Austrians absolutely don't believe in boiling down economics arithmetic or magic. The WHOLE POINT of the Austrian economists was that it all boils down to individual human action. You're confusing Austrians with all the other utilitarians (like Keynes) who don't understand that the unpredictability of the free market is exactly what makes calculation difficult if not impossible, and market regulation that does not revolve around natural law (rights protection) counterproductive.
