This will be the return of Sound Banking Practices instead of fractional fiat banking which our Founding Fathers continuously warned us about. 6. Paul first ran for President as the Libertarian candidate in 1988, receiving a massive 400,000 votes. He now commands the support of those all across the political spectrum, from libertarians through anti-war Democrats to real paleoconservative Republicans. Paul has been in and out of Congress since the 70's and is universally hated by the Republican elite, who routinely back Democrats against him just to try and get him out of office. The former Vietnam flight surgeon is the perfect candidate for President and activists from every corner of every political persuasion should mobilize now in an attempt to help Paul shatter the power monopoly of the Republican and Democrat establishment who have worked together for decades to slit America's throat in the interests of power, greed, and ego - all working towards the realization of a new world order. I suspect that he has an extremely good chance of winning for the same reason that I suspected that he would run several months ago in June or so of last year. Why? Because the more I looked at the fundamentals of the US economy, the more it looks like we are pre destined to have a currency panic and a derivatives disaster even worse than what we had in 79 that got Regan elected. Once a dollar panic ensues, that will easily create several trillion dollars worth of pressure to kick ass and force change. Ron Paul is almost the perfect outlet for that pressure.The powers that be in the US are not stupid, and know what it takes to get things back in shape, they won't fall for the propaganda and BS common in other 3rd world despots. Also, the US economy is different from other economies in the world. When Argentina goes to hell, you just pull out your cash and bring it to the states, but when the states goes to hell - there will be no outlet. Not Europe or Japan (they will go to hell with us) Not China or India or Brazil (they are not developed enough in infrastructure and economic freedoms), and not the rest of the world which is incapable of absorbing the financial shock. The only option for the powers that be is to batten down the hatchets and kick some raw ass in Washington DC.

Yeah I think it's great that his articles are being read on Digg. I think his being challenge if he runs is being ignored more than challenged/attacked. He has virtually no household name recognition to begin with. FYI I've started a Ron Paul thread over on the MSNBC national news message boards in attempt to raise awareness with all the Republicrat users of those boards. I'm really excited about a Ron Paul running in the GOP primaries. As a libertarian Republican, I'm sick of always ending up with the likes of Bob Dull or Dumbya. And the fact that Ron's an outspoken critic of the current Iraq-mire is very encouraging. He seems to be able to get away with it while Hagel can't even get away with his moderate criticisms of it. Although his messaging is not identical, he needs to do the same thing that Buchanan did in '92 with the Buchanan Brigades - organize everywhere, and be everywhere. With the 'net he can do this.
