dailykos.com — Love or hate him (I personally respect him, but strongly disagree with his views on most issues), Ron Paul has inspired the most remarkable bottoms-up netroots campaign this cycle (Obama is the best on the Democratic side, mostly because of his popularity among net-savvy younger voters).

Some of the people who left comments on that blog posting are extremely stupid. I am going to relish the day that Paul gets more votes than their "viable" candidate. (viable meaning they don't speak dangerously against the status quo)

Sorry for the late reply, i had a death in the family and other real life stuff that takes priority.Maybe i just don't understand that concept...because i had no idea the federal government had too much power. I honestly don't think it does...and i'm still standing that abortion should be legalized federally. Your argument that it may be, "...constantly comes under attack from the extreme Right" doesn't make much sense either. That could be said about ANY issue and that's a cop-out response to not push for something as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure if someone actually thought it, they could've made the same argument against womens rights. If it's going to constantly be under attack...moving it from one government to 50 smaller governments isn't going to make all that much of a difference in my opinion. A government is a government, state or federal. Worst case scenerio, you have the residents of states feuding with each other because their individual government's voted differently. There are things that definitely need to be handled at a state level, and there are definitely things that need to be handled at a federal level...and after thinking about it, I'm saying abortion has to be done federally. Like I've said, we aren't forcing women to have abortions if it's legalized...we're opening the opportunity to enable women to have an abortion in a safe, clean environment.I just don't understand why the obsession with giving states more power...simple as that. Alot of Ron Paul supporters I've come across share that view and it doesn't make any sense to me. I'll continue to do reading on it, so don't feel like I'm a lost cause or anything...but judging from what I've read so far...my opinion hasn't wavered.I won't be checking this anymore, because it's a pain in the ass to check a comment that's dugg down so far, and finding a thread that's so far off the front page and as i'm moving into finals week, and i've gotta prioritize. Thanks for the discussion, it's always fun. :)
