It never stood for anything worth sticking to. It was never libertarian. It was always an astroturf movement for the religious right wing of the GOP.

Poor delusional Libertarians trying to drag their stupid teabagger movement out of the racist, conspiracy-laden, cesspool of unbridled hate. These worthless losers couldn't even keep Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and big insurance from cynically exploiting and co-opting their own "movement"... not too smart, these teabaggers. And these idiots actually believe they have the answers and can run the country? Don't think so. They can't even manage controlling their pathetic Nuremberg rallies.

And he is absolutely correct. The "Tea Party" needs to be careful to stick to what it stands for and not let the neoconservatives inch their way in. They have already become another faction of the Republican Party.FTFY

where were the Tea Party douchebags when Bush was spending us into a hole? it's not about big government - it's about which side is in power. money for health care = bad, money for unjust wars = good.

The original Tea Parties have been going for a while first one I remember was in 1997. Just recently a bunch of jackass racists got all pissy about Obama winning and decided to finally follow the conservative rules. It is not our fault that some idiots come to our rallies with stupid signs, not wanting to admit that they contributed to this mess! If it were up to me, I'd gladly give a public speech expressing how much I feel it hurts our movement. It just causes die heart Dems like yourself to completely disregard us and insult us.... Although, you probably would have something wise to say about Ron Paul...So I guess even our real opinions wouldn't make a huge difference to your feelings toward us.

Wow someone who uses wiki as a rock solid source.. never saw that coming... /rolls eyes. yeah there's no bias there at all.As someone who's been part of what's been CALLED the tea party movement only for a short period (since at least 2008 officially, Ron Paul money bomb anyone?) but has been around far longer i can assure you that the movement is NOT at all what it was when it first started. But hey you've got the all powerful all knowing wiki on your side... don't bother with man behind the curtain.
