It seemed at first that the moderators were on Ron Paul's side by asking economic questions that he is most knowledgeable on; such as the weak dollar. Thereby giving him a place to shine and a place for all the other dope candidates to stumble. Then when I thought how much Dr.Paul must be fuming inside I realized that perhaps they were doing this so that the good doctor would lose his cool on national television. By having to listen to these twits espouse that the President doesn't require Congressional approval to go to war . No such luck. Unlike Romney who was overheard to be muttering something while Dr.Paul spoke, the good doctor is civil and did not take their bait to entrap and label him.As a side note if you watched the live streaming coverage they did not cut to commercials. At the end I watched McCain prepare to go live. You could overhear an adviser commenting that he should just say the 0% interest rate thing was a joke. Credit to McCain, he may know nothing about monetary policy but he did rebuke the adviser and said he would stand by his comment. Whether he did or not I can not say as I did not stay around to watch.
These debates are a joke, an insult, and an abuse of the trust that the American Public HAS to put in the media monopolies. Mathews no more wants Ron Paul to be the nominee than does the Republican Establishment. The only difference is that Mathews knows that Dr. Paul would wax the floor with Hillary, whereas the tyrants in the GOP want to have their War and their FED and their IRS, and Dr. Paul would have an end to them all. Imho, Mathews lipservice to the good doctor was as fake as just about everything else he says. One of the only questions he got asked was which of the other candidates he would support if he didn't get nominated. A joke, and a travesty.
Romney said, "I'd consult my lawyers," when asked about invading Iran. Are you kidding me? If Dean's scream did him in, this stupid ass answer should do Romney in.
