Ron Paul is a traitor to Conservative Valueshttp://www.cornswalled.com/2007/07/ron-paul-traitor-to-conservative-values.htmlRon Paul, traitor to Conservative Values Ron Paul is running as a Republican, but his values and goals run counter to everything the republican party stands for.The Death of a Global America under Ron PaulFirst, Ron Paul favors a Foreign Policy based on Isolationism and Xenophobia. He whitewashes this stance by calling it "Nonintervention" but this does not conceal the fact that he wants the USA to step down form it's Superpower status and let China and the European Union take over. He would cede all of America's foreign business and political interests to other countries for the sake of avoiding interaction with the world at large.A Ron Paul Presidency would be characterized by a retraction from the world stage, and the destruction of over 100 Years of growing global influence. The Death of the EconomyRon Paul doesn't like the fact that the USA uses free trade agreements to protect the interests of American Businesses. Under his own bizarre brand of "Free Trade" he would dissolve the protections negotiated by the US Government, while requiring no similar open policy with trade partners. This would, for example, allow Japan to impose a massive tariff on US made vehicles, while placing no tariffs on Japanese vehicles. The end result would be the death of the foreign market for American made cars while Japanese cars, being cheaply made, would be the less expensive option in the USA.Ron Paul describes himself of favoring Lower Taxes and a Smaller Government. This is, on the surface, a noble, Conservative goal. The dark side of his claims surface when you look at his foreign policy goals.Currently, the government works hand in hand with American Businesses to strengthen the dollar and protect American Business interests in trade and fiscal negotiations. Paul would see this facet of the government completely eradicated. One wonders exactly what portions of the US Government Ron Paul wants to keep. Some of his stances, such as opposition to Trade Treaties with other nations, borders on supporting Anarchism and not the Libertarian stance he claims. The end of the protections offered by the government, would put American businesses at the mercy of foreign governments. While large corporations such as Wal-Mart would be able to negotiate as if they were a country, most American Businesses would be left out in the cold, unable to stand up to the power of entire governments when trying to enter foreign markets. Our place in the Global Economy would be shattered, and only the largest of the largest corporations would be able to compete.Soft on AbortionWhile claiming a Pro-Life stance, Ron Paul does not believe it's within the realm of Federal Authority to allow or ban abortion. While a Ron Paul presidency would likely see the overturning of Roe vs. Wade, it would also see the issue thrown open to the states. Pro-Life activists would be forced to continue scattering their efforts, as each state, and in some cases individual counties or cities, would become a fresh battleground.Ron Paul does not favor a real solution, but instead wants to cowardly wash his hands of the entire affair, telling the states it's "their problem" and rejecting the opportunity to ban abortion at a national level. He takes a similar avoidance stance on the issue of Gay marriage. Specifically, he claims to oppose it, playing lip service to Conservative ideals, but refuses to take any action that could help enact that stance. On both the issues of Abortion and Gay Marriage, Ron Paul has a claim of faith, but no action. I can not even imagine a more impotent stance.Soft on DrugsRon Paul has supported bills to legalize Marijuana for Medical and Industrial purposes. He also wishes some strains of Marijuana to be exempt for Federal Drug Control laws, despite the high levels of THC found in the Euphemistically named "industrial Hemp."To make matters worse, he claims that the Federal Government does not even HAVE jurisdiction to ban or relegate drugs.A Ron Paul Presidency would result in the end of the FDA, the end of the Drug War, and a free for all, where any substance could be sold without federal quality control. 100 Years ago we had Children's cough medicine with Opium and Cocaine, do we REALLY want a return of those products? Do we REALLY want to have Federal oversight into the saftey and quality of our food supply come to an end?I read Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle" as a terrifying window into the past. Ron Paul apparently sees it as a goal.Shelters PedophilesRon Paul has voted against legislation to help catch online predators, again washing his hands by claiming the entire responsibility for protecting kids online should fall upon the parents. This is nice when, like Ron Paul, you can afford a nanny, but the average parent does not have the time or ability to have someone looking over their child's shoulder every time they turn on a computer.Favors Taking Away Your Right to VoteRon Paul doesn't want you to vote for your senators. He's supported legislation to amend the constitution so that your State government elects your senators, and NOT you.SummaryRon Paul has no problem with claiming a stance on issues such as Abortion and Gay marriage , as long as he can avoid taking action. He would gladly see the end of American business dominance, and completely kill the ability of anyone but large corporations to compete globally. He's soft on drugs and wants to protect Pedophiles.Ron Paul is a traitor to the Republican party, and has no place on the 2008 Republican primaries. He should be thrown to the Democrats, he's just the sort of two faced turncoat they like.
If I had not already made my mind up, cornwalled would have convinced me to I am rightRon Paul is the best man for the job and will get my vote. He is the only republican Iwould vote for.
When I think of Ron Paul I think of Napoleon Dynamite encouraging Pedro Sanchez to tell them that their wildest dreams will come true, and I think he can tell the people that. GO RON :)
Dr. Ron Paul is the only one of the candidates qualified to be president. He is consistent and has won ten elections. His message is one that rings in the ears of every American because every American knows that DC and the Constitution are no longer married, they are legally separated.
I saw Ron Paul speak for the first time last night on a local cable channel. Prior to this, I assumed he was a Ross Perot version of a Democrat due to the attention he gets on Digg (surely a Republican could NEVER be popular on Digg)I really liked what this guy had to say. I was planning to not vote at all, being a disillusioned republican who had trusted our leadership was doing the right thing by going into Iraq. Iraq has got to be one of the biggest mistakes in American history. I must say, I like what he is saying about "non-intervention". We are literally going broke screwing with other countries. I think it is MORE xenophobic having to constantly oppose, screw with, and bomb anyone that doesn't play the democratic farce we pretend to play.I like his stance on taxation, privacy, drug reform, and national sovereignty. So far, every other candidate (democrat, republican, other) looks like the same old crap.Sign me up. Ron Paul for President!
Go, Ron! And if the GOP won't nominate you, run as an independent. I won't vote for anyone else on the Republican ticket in '08. Unfortunately, the GOP has fallen into the hands of big government, police-state neo-cons, and I won't support that agenda in any way, shape or form. Even Fred Thompson, the much vaunted "savior" of the GOP has said that he supports the thinking behind the Iraq invasion.
