thinkprogress.org — Novak said, ?somebody mentioned the Jon Stewart program, I?ve never seen that in my life and I will go to my grave never having seen it.? Asked why, Novak said, ?I don?t see any reason for it. It?s a comedian, self-righteous comedian taking on airs of grandeur and I really don?t need that.?

I do not like them in a box. I do not like them with a fox. I do not like them in a house. I do not like them with a mouse. I do not like them here or there. I do not like them anywhere. I do not like green eggs and ham. I do not like them, Sam-I-am.

novak is right on, stewart is incredibly self-righteous. stewart is political humor for children and people who have very simplistic views of things. and you guys are asking how he can be critical without watching the show, well it doesnt seem that complicated to read about what stewart is doing.

the sad thing is that if the daily show was not satire it would very likely be taken off the air immediately.

Well according to http://mediamatters.org/items/200605250003 (reposted from below), Daily Show viewers are "better informed on campaign issues than consumers of other late-night television programs". So the Democratic Presidential nominee gets on the show and has to fend off such zingers as "boxers or briefs".John Stewart has a smart audience. I suppose it's the Daily Show's prerogative whether or not to ask pressing questions or to be just entertaining. My point though (as if it matters) is that John Stewart didn't do anything truly groundbreaking on Crossfire. He challenged the shows format, that's all. CNN used that show to try to challenge guests and catch them off guard. What's the problem with that? And is it John Stewart's job to correct other political shows that he deems similarly worthless?

Considering how I got modded way down for my comments earlier in this thread it seems that the group here actually does form their political opinion and news from Jon Stewart. I think Jon Stewart is funny but to get your news and form your political opinions from watching late night shows and comedians is truly disturbing. So you can mod me down all you want. What is scary is these same people vote. Whether you love or hate Novak he does have a right not to watch Stewart's show. So what is even more scary is if the group Digg think here was in power you can kiss your civil liberities goodbye and welcome thought police.

wtfdaemon says - "The red-state smell of dimwitted reflexive defense is pretty pungent, bcismar. Try watching Jon Stewart, with an open mind,,,"A mind as open as say, yours? You make a lot of assumptions about someone you know just next to nothing about don't you? Especially for such an open minded person.Typical.I get Stewart's humor just fine. As I said above, I don't like his show because he is a hypocrite, just like you are.
