blog.wired.com — Well, the RIAA has pulled off another one. The U.S. Copyright Register has decided that Ringtones are the same as piano bites, meaning the labels do not have to renegotiate agreements with songwriters, and only have to pay the songwriters a paltry 9 cents per download.
