yglesias.thinkprogress.org — I’ve sort of been waiting for the day when some right-wing Canadian politicians would step up and defend their fair land’s health care system from the smears of the American right. Now it seems that Conservative Party Senator Hugh Segal is doing just that.

A right-wing Canadian is like a far-left person in America.

just imagine how much a nation full of people in similar situations will cost to keep alive in 15, 20, 30, 50 years....:/

No more than it costs now. Less even, through economies of scale. Canadians spend less per person on health care, and get more.

"And someone has a medical emergency they can go to the emergency room and get treated"I'm sure you realize there's a lot more to necessary health care than being stabilized in an emergency room. If my emergency is that I'm going to die without chemotherapy or without a relatively simple surgical procedure that I can't afford, that doesn't mean I can go to an emergency room and be treated.

Why on earth are we in the US bothering with how those in Canada handling their socialism? USA citizens have enough to battle just trying to mind our own business keep ObamaBots from stealing our country for collectivism. There are also several Canadian socialists on threads on this and other articles about our US system who busy trying to influence Americans to "go communism". Canadians are friendly folk, but let's all please MYOB.

It costs less in Canada because they just let the old folks die in line waiting for treatment.

I know a guy who complained about headaches to his Dr, he got sent to a specialist pronto. The specialist got him a MRI the next day. Within days he was operated on for a tumor. He's alive. He's not rich. He was unemployed. How do you think he's do in the State?Reality: in Canada if you really need stuff you get it quick.
