washingtonpost.com — WASHINGTON -- New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson says a fence at the Mexican border authorized by Congress this fall "gets in the way" of U.S.-Mexico relations, & he wants the new Democratic Congress to reverse the legislation. "...the most significant and constructive acts the U.S. Congress should take is to get rid of it."--*--Do you feel safer?

Yeah...gets in the way of the free-flow of illegals coming over. Richardson is looking forward to the day amnesty kicks in and all the new 'Americans' will be able to vote Democrat. That will be a sad day and I will do what I can to make certain that day never comes. If amnesty happens, New Mexico will become more like Old Mexico.

I still have no idea how any politician can rationalize a system where anyone can freely travel in and out of the counrty unchecked. If that is really how they feel, then get rid of the checks when passing via bus/car/plane/boat as well, because they no longer have any impact if there's a wide-open means of entering the country without proving that you have the right to be here. It's completely idiotic.

The same can be said about locking your doors at night, but I'll bet you do so anyway in an attempt to keep out the anti-social element. BTW, how is that working out for you?

I agree. They should put sniper towers one mile apart along the boarder. Any of our snipers can make a half mile shot.
