arstechnica.com— Jammie Thomas-Rasset was held liable to sharing 24 songs, including one by pop crooner Richard Marx. But the lawsuit wasn't done in Marx's name

He will not see a dime (or at most, perhaps market value--99 cents) of the $88,000 they've charged Thomas-Rasset for his song, I guarantee. This is a desperate extortion racket cooked up by the RIAA to prop up a dead business model.
Then why is it non-big label music gives me an allergic reaction, while other stuff can sound good? Musicianship, composition, arrangement and vocals are timeless qualities. I listen to African, Gypsy, Latin American, Brazilian (yeah, it's not the same as Latin American), some European artists and Every kind of American music over the last century. I doubt my age has to do anything with it. I'm not wearing clothes or getting my identity from a subculture. I f**king love music.Seriously, are you going to defend the crap on the radio? What in your opinion is the music that qualifies as listenable on the radio right now or over the last decade?
"The track was actually played in court to verify that it was the same one retrieved from the tereastarr@KaZaA share folder..."I hope the RIAA lawyers that played the track in court paid the proper fees for playing copywrited material in a public forum. Otherwise they'll have to sue themselves.
Oceans apart day after dayAnd I slowly go insaneI hear your voice on the lineBut it doesn't stop the painIf I see you next to neverHow can we say foreverWherever you goWhatever you doI will be right here waiting for youWhatever it takesOr how my heart breaksI will be right here waiting for youI took for granted, all the timesThat I though would last somehowI hear the laughter, I taste the tearsBut I can't get near you nowOh, can't you see it babyYou've got me goin' CrAzYWherever you goWhatever you doI will be right here waiting for youWhatever it takesOr how my heart breaksI will be right here waiting for youI wonder how we can surviveThis romanceBut in the end if I'm with youI'll take the chanceOh, can't you see it babyYou've got me goin' crazyWherever you goWhatever you doI will be right here waiting for youWhatever it takesOr how my heart breaksI will be right here waiting for you

That's another thing, how is the selection fair? They can choose who they feel will give them what they want. They should select 12 people at random.
