torrentfreak.com — The popular Internet television network Revision3 suffered from a severe DDoS attack, launched by the infamous anti-piracy organization MediaDefender. After targeting The Pirate Bay’s trackers, MediaDefender apparently thought it was a good idea to spread their fake torrents through Revision3.

As mentioned on slashdot, MediaDefender is with all certainty some kind of shell company for RIAA and MPAA. If they decide to sue them, the company probably won't have any assets and will just fall apart, to be rebuilt again with the exact same client list and employees. The real money is with the real mafIAA.

Is the name "MediaDefender" appropriate ? Possibly MediaDestructor or MediaOffender would be more in line with their criminal actions.

There seems to be a little contradiction here: Net neutrality, government, government lobbyist, big media MPAA / RIAA, General Media Defenders business practices ( including others ) and let's not forget Senator Stevens' comments: ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Series_of_tubes )“ Ten movies streaming across that, that Internet, and what happens to your own personal Internet? I just the other day got... an Internet was sent by my staff at 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday, I got it yesterday [Tuesday]. Why? Because it got tangled up with all these things going on the Internet commercially.[...] They want to deliver vast amounts of information over the Internet. And again, the Internet is not something that you just dump something on. It's not a big truck. It's a series of tubes. And if you don't understand, those tubes can be filled and if they are filled, when you put your message in, it gets in line and it's going to be delayed by anyone that puts into that tube enormous amounts of material, enormous amounts of material. All of which are in play currently, I have read and listened to many arguments, reviews of the Rev3 DOS Attack, and the current Twit ( http://www.twit.tv/145 ). No one has really addressed the issue of " Clogging up the Tubes " even more by allowing companies such as media defender to flood the net with useless data, launching DDOS attacks against sites which likely are hosted by " Known or Well Known " ISP or Hosting Services. Would seem that the US or any government would not allow such a practice or business ( more importantly contracted by and/or a shell company of big media ) to conduct such unlawful practices. At the very least Steaves' should be outraged and demand they ( Media Defender / MPAA / RIAA ) stop, flooding the net with fake files, so he can get his already 3 weeks delayed emails. :-) Just seems that the Government even if they are on the ( under the table Big Media ) payroll, would have a major problem with this business model and step in and do something. As I stated in a previous post, Media Defender / MPAA / RIAA doesn't allow for exceptions or excuses when they drag people into court or strong arm money...and so far most cases have been based on WAY much less concrete evidence than Rev3 has on Media Defender..........if REV3 is given the opportunity....it does not matter what the excuses was when contacted....they hacked a remote company ( whether you had doors unlocked or not ), you still need to knock and ask for permission to enter ( my neighbors do ) and disturbed a smaller, but well known and respected internet news, media and entertainment companies daily ( weekend holiday ) business.......at least pursue criminal charges up to the state level. We to bring this type of business practice to a halt and to the attention of main stream mediaJust a thought - a few thousand people downloading ( legal or not ) media vs a few thousand eating up bandwidth on fake content ! ? I'd feel better knowing my kid neighbors torrent downloads ( that tend ) to slow us down form time to time, is actual content that is enjoyed and/or useful.............having to wait an extra minute for my daily porn...ummmm "" art research "" to load for him to be downloading some fake or maybe a target of some " ROUGE / Media Defender DDOS oversight attack !!! ..............NOT ACCEPTABLE ! :-)

Nice thought - but why bother, when they have Rev3 already and getting more viewers for a lot less sweat and cash? Besides, I don't think Leo wants to come - unless Louderback wants to move the offices up Leo's closet in Petaluma.... ;)Only thing I'd like to see Rev3 do is get on TiVO to Go, so I can watch it on my TiVO Series 3 just like I do DL.TV, CRANKY GEEKS and GEEKBRIEF TV....
