last100.com — i use itunes but i have always wanted an alternative. there have been a lot of them. this one is interesting because it's free. i tried it earlier. it's cool to get free music. but there are a lot of strings attached. this is pretty indepth look at it.

This review compares a music store that has been established for a few years and is now on version 7.2 (or something like that) to a brand new music store that has been out for a few months. The service is great for what it is, and even though they only have a few hundred thousand songs, everybody has to start somewhere. The only catch is that you have have their download manager, which despite what previous history has taught me, is not full of spyware.

Woopee, DRM'd WMA tracks that only play in Windows, and you have to sit through commercials each time you play them... I'll take LastFM or P2P over this crap, even if it is free. I bet this one's dead within the year. Hope Universal wasn't counting on this one succeeding... or do I?

itunes has 3x the indie catalog of emusic. emusic is grossly overrated.
