hothardware.com — Unlike the R580 variants used on the other members of the X1900 family which are built on TSMC's 90nm line, the RV570 is built on the company's 80nm node. The RV570 also has a different pixel shader / vertex shader configuration, and in perhaps the biggest departure from the from the R580, the RV570 has native CrossFire support.

I always like hothardware's reviews...very straightforward and to the point. There are tons of reviews out for this card today, my list is here:http://www.gpureview.com/Radeon-X1950-Pro-card-466.htmlAlso note, this is the first ATi card to EVER do dongle-less CrossFire, which I'm happy to see them finally get working.

allow me to paraphrase: sucks to be current owners of Videocards from ATI, who splurged a lot of money, only to render them obsolete in no time at all. We don't care for product longevity, and failure to update products every 2 and a half weeks, will not allow the chinese dynasty to prosper into the next century.

I almost laughed when I googled this:http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/4883/x1950gtsl9.png...and then I cried inside because I can't afford it.

I'm unsure if there was sarcasm in there or not. (And I'm British - we're meant to be most proficient at sarcasm, from what I've heard.) I shall respond assuming no sarcasm."product longevity". Are you saying ATi should slow development to increase the time it takes for a top-of-the-range product to become "obsolete"? They have nVidia to compete with, you know.

How right you are, for-shame on me! I must have had a senior moment...

heheh, trust me, I love computers and videogames, I was just venting. I bought 3 months ago, a used X1800XL for $350 CDN. I can't sell it off even at $175 anymore. It's an expensive hobby, but I decided to wait it out till DirectX10. I can't afford to buy into every upgrade as I used to back in the days of 386 => 486 => P1, P2, P3, P4, P4 rev 1thru99, AMD Opteron, Core2. It's all in good fun.@ Wootery, you did not detect sarcasm in my post? What kind of Brit are you?
