bytecellar.com — What does a dual-core CPU, MPEG hardware decoder, 3.5" color LCD, and Linux, all in a tiny package, get you? One heck of a portable media device that puts around 40 retro computer emulators in your pocket. From C64 and Atari 800 to Amiga and Atari ST, it runs them all. Not to mention the 1,100 MAME titles. Playstation too. And all for cheap!

"This guy is telling complete lies and is a PSP fanboi.Come over to www.gp32x.com the GP2X community and get the facts from the people who actually own GP2X consoles."I own one, and as I previously stated.. the thing bricked within a week and the website I bought it from could have cared less. They told me to look online3 for tutorials on how to flash the firmware - only I can't get far enough in the boot process to do even that. Before it bricked, I was less than impressed. The screen DID have scanlines, the screen protector that came with it was already scuffed up when I got it. The controler on it is cheezy and the plastic thumb-piece constantly came off.All in all, a VERY poorly designed product that was CLEARLY not ready to ship when I purchased it last December. From the look of things, it's STILL not ready.. yet they keep selling them.Buy one if you really want one, but I wouldn't recommend it. $180 is pretty pricey for a paperweight.

Amazing little handheld! I ordered one of these about a month ago, and I am extremely impressed. Thousands of classic titles and many original games = Fun. Fun. Fun.

I finally ordered it, after talking to about twenty+ people. All I can confidently say is that this is one step in a good direction. If more (and I mean a lot more) companies throughout the world pop up to compete with GPH, I'll be happy as a clam. I've been hoping for something like this for some time, as I am a big fan of a variety of small games that aren't as relatively complex and difficult to process. I used to play Dystopia on my PC a lot, but it's getting too resource intensive, may that resource be hard drive space, time, lack of portability, energy, etc. All I need is a quick game on a portable device, and I'm done.I can excite the public with portable porn. lol.
